Its like reading Sybil on LSD.

As I said elsewhere, aggiehank may have been banned but nature abhors a vacuum.

Actually I think the big dog money people will sooner than later throw their heavy weight around and terminate the problem aspects. And by that I mean terminate some people like the actual Terminator. If they get irate enough, maybe even the Predator.

Or, it’s just an advocate of a particular ideology.

Using it as a pejorative doesn’t change the meaning.

I do. I think we just keep talking past each other about what we feel are important matters.

The problem with our country isn’t that we don’t understand each other. It’s that we have a growing national divide between people who want Marxism and people who don’t.

I see what you're saying, and in that sense, you're right. When the agenda itself is problematic, discourse is irrelevant if the agenda's going to be pushed through in any case.

But when more and more on each side determine that any compromise is necessarily unprincipled, discourse is again rendered irrelevant. I don't think that's how our Founders envisioned it working.

That's an extreme oversimplification. Virtually no one in this country actually wants Marxism. The discourse should be about when and by how much should government be involved. This should be a CONSTANT tension, not something that should be resolved once and for all. We should always be examining the role of government in our society. The same could be said for corporate power as well.

Right. They want diversity, inclusion and equity. Which is Marxism. They just don’t understand what’s in the fine print.

I generally try to respond in kind. Perhaps you haven't noticed that I rarely resort to name-calling - as so many are want to do to me. But I will take someone seriously if I feel they are being serious, and I will ridicule those who I find ridiculous.

That's right, civil to the civil, and ridiculous to the ridiculous. It's called, "context".

Engage me in a serious and respectful manner, and I will try to respond in kind. Go ahead, try it...

truly. The rebranding of speech by the left.

News and information that looks bad for democrats is now "disinformation"
Political beliefs that fall outside of leftist orthodoxy are now "extremist views"

Sharing conservative content online is a "violation of platform terms of service and community standards"

Even reposting twitter videos of leftists that they post of themselves on social media, (asking people to like and repost..) showing just how stupid and out of touch they are is also now forbidden.. Libs of Tik Tok

Ok. Which part of teaching sex to kindergartners do you think merits discourse?

None of it.

You still don't understand that my point has nothing to do with the Florida law prohibiting teachers from sharing their perversions with their students.

My point is simply that DeSantis using government to silence corporate speech should be discussed in terms of what we want from government. I say that while I agree with what DeSantis has done, it's not based on conservative principles (and that's not inherently wrong), but that the bill apparently went through without debate in either house was a bit strange.

I know you'd like to paint me as something I'm not, and you desperately seem to want to change the subject, but the fact is that there's an interesting political debate to be had here if people could put aside their fears and biases, and stop trying to just label everything.

...and stop trying to call everyone they disagree with a "groomer". A person can be philosophically against government silencing corporate speech, and yet still not want teachers to be grooming children to be queers.

Ironically, the liberal position I take here, support of government censoring corporate speech, is the very position people like you seem to want to believe is a conservative position - merely to try to protect your conservative identity.

IF it were somehow mandated and unavoidable in a terrible world, and if you had no choice but to put your child in that class….. And perhaps of showing them porn was on the agenda, I’d demand fair and open dialogue as to whether it’ll be white porn actors or black ones, it’s not just always going to be black ones. There will be equity amongst the two colors. I’d go postal over all that non-white sex.

Disney does not hold the winning cards in this scenario. It is doubtful that Florida cares whether or not they move their HQ to Florida. If anything, Disney has to think about dumping their chief executive and replace him with a sane one. It was a very foolish move by Disney, very bad judgement.

Well… except those actually in charge or socialism or some version they can call democracy.

You see when you can spend 40 years in politics and get free money off the backs of the working class while keeping them down … that has a name.

Ask pelosi/Schumer/ biden … all your pals who can dictate what you wear and how you can interact and who gets privileges all while getting insanely rich
