Just curious, do congress or senators swear any oath to the constitution?

This congressmen and the VP's oath (differnt than the presidential oath):

quote:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."

Who did you vote for. Who are you going to vote for this time?

Technically a true statement

Sorry for taking an individuals credentials, that are college educated and vetted, over an internet message board user.

The need to appeal to authority is very interesting on the left. Here you are, in an example where the message board user is factually right, still making the case for the “college educated” columnist.

Words matter.

Trump's words about suspending the constitution matter too.

I’d love to read more if I could get past the ads.
It doesn’t really matter. Trump doesn’t know the Contitution and ignores it, anyway.

Probably not but this is just a legal argument against an insurrection that does not exist.

There was no insurrection.

The 14th amendment angle also fails because POTUS is not an officer of the United States as contemplated by the Constitution or SCOTUS jurisprudence.

quote:

having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State,

Donald Trump was never a member of Congress, officer of the U.S., the member of a state legislature, or an executive or judicial officer in any state.

Section 3 does not apply to him, regardless of whether there was an insurrection or whether the word "support" appears in the POTUS oath.

I voted for Trump twice and I'm even laughing that ANYONE still defends it. At some point, our hate of democrats has overcame our perspective, morals and values. Trump was totally hoping for "Permanent President" status.

This can’t be a real opinion.

Dude you gave us a link and asked us to read further. I did so and found that the actual arguments being advanced undercut your post.

Of course you did.
Why do you need to lie? Are you embarrassed to say you voted Democrat?

But that totally doesn't happen on the other sides, right?

Your sources are bonafide, right?

Would you take this article seriously if ToiletPaperUSA/Alex Jones/Truth Social posted it?

See how that works?

It was an unarmed "insurrection" where armed authorities invited and escorted the "Shaman" into the Senate well for a photo-op. It was an unarmed "insurrection" infiltrated with government actors who not only did not stem crowd incursions into restricted areas, they encouraged it.

What?

Members of the military are also not "officers of the United States," except those appointed to JCOS/Cabinet/DoD positions by the POTUS.

The Colorado court just ruled that POTUS is not an officer of the United States as contemplated by the 14th this very month.
