Having the sitting president give your commencement speech is fricking awesome.

Historically, yes.

In this case ... LOL. Sure ... whatever you say.

I think I see the problem. The troops do not belong to the Commander in Chief. He is entrusted to lead them in protecting and defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies. He is not entrusted to use them as his personal agents for his desired political goals.

The President of the United States does not decide who is an enemy. That is the Constitutional responsibility of Congress.

Unfortunately ... a bit say ... problematic right about now ... if you think about it.

How many years in a row has it been now? Are we getting close to the number of years in a row Notre Dame beat y'all?

(And I did not know why Notre Dame and Navy kept playing each other given the discrepancy in talent, until I learned that Notre Dame was dangerously close to shutting down, then Navy leased it out for training purposes, allowing it to remain open.)

I hate when commencement addresses are political. I know he's not the first POTUS or politician to do it, but the day isn't about you or your agenda. It's about celebrating and recognizing the biggest day in those kids' lives. Save the policy crap for another day.

This

I hate politicians with a passion so deep that my blood boils to the temperature of the center of earth's core when I hear or see them spout their bullshite.

OK that's an exaggeration, but Obama seems to be one of the worst when it comes to using his platform to spout his political agenda and mock his detractors. Can any of these guys just be genuine for one hour?

No joke. Go up there, tell a motivational/inspiring story and say congrats. Recognize that not everyone is behind you and respect their time/views. The political class doesn't understand that it would be a better use of everyone's time and would probably earn them a little more political capital.

if I were president, I'd close Gitmo! It's as if he hasn't been president for over 5 years!

So you think we should just let all the Gitmo prisoners into America and go free?

I don't.

I've lost count, seriously ... 11 maybe.

We broke that roughly 40 year streak and punked them 3 out of 4 years here recently ... in case you missed it.

One would think they'd show a little more humility and gratitude.... but, alas, no.

If these comments make you sick, you need to get a life.

I'm sorry that Obama and 95% of scientists don;t share your agenda.

quick side story from when i was going to school at the navy base in Orlando (base is now closed i believe). every year...the night before the game...the base commander would have the band play Anchors Aweigh all night long directly outside of the Army barracks on base.

He thought he could try them in the US. He didn't count on Congress trying to block every single thing he proposes.

Beyond that, do people still complain about politicians not keeping their campaign promises?

Suckers.

He's a useless suit. Short of executive orders (kind of scary) he's politically dead in the water. I really don't care who we elect after him I'll just be glad that he's gone. I am in no way a fan of Hilary's but she would be remarkably better than this asshat
