" lets force people to watch shite they don't want for the sake of seeming 'tolerant' "

I've never played or watched much soccer so I know little about the game.

I do watch the World Cup and from what I have surmised the focus of the sport is to have a grown man fall to the ground and spasm in pain if another man comes within three feet of him. After a second or two God delivers a miraculous healing to the man on the ground and the kicking continues.

Hard to imagine they made a sport out of such a thing.

1. Bar patron asks to watch soccer.
2. Bartender curses him for making the request.

Great business model. MAGA!

It may well be if a dozen people sitting at the bar were watching the news or whatever else was on. I didn't read the entire thread but does the OP clarify that point?

I did not see anything to that effect.

If so and from a business perspective, there was certainly a more-polite way to convey that info.

Granted, but we have to make allowances for possible OP embellishment of the exchange.

From personal experience airport bartenders tend to be a temperamental bunch.

Read my first post. The point is that cursing your customers may not be the best business model for profitability.

Hopefully all airports will now give away free food and drinks from now on to make up for the hate speech and political incorrectness

I understand fricking with soccer fans because they can be terribly annoying and sometimes I do that too but the actual hate seems misguided.

Most soccer fans try to act like they have sense of elitism because they can enjoy what is really an obscure sport in the US. I hate douches of all shapes and sizes.

The obscure sports fad in America right now is one of the worst things going.

“Oh I’m so cool, unique, and well cultured because I watch soccer, hockey, cricket, and rugby”

I was at bogies about a year ago on a Friday night and these tool frat guys got the bartender to put on a hockey game and were yelling at the top of their lungs back and forth.

What’s wrong with watching a hockey game? And how is it an obscure sport?

That ignorance explains why he is a bartender.

I imagine if true there was a lot more of the conversation missing from the op.
Bartenders like tips. Its how they make their money so much more was likely said in the referred to situation.
Who knows.

A game played on frozen ice is an obscure sport in Louisiana.
