For yourself and anyone else slow on the uptake, it’s that those who label themselves as Donald Trump supporters shouldn’t be criticizing anyone else for exaggerating or embellishing their accomplishment.

I’ll criticize who I choose. I’m not bound by your rules.

Most often I never comment, but a defensive coordinator for a team is allowed to be called coach, kids call coaches coach because they coach, Every coach is called coach. My elementary school kid calls the high school kids that help out coach. If TigerDropping has lost the thread on football, even on this board, it;s fallen hard.

I’m not. You can say Brady led his team to the Super Bowl win. He did.

No one says Terrell Buckley led the Patriots to their championship. No one says Brian Daboll led the Patriots to the championship.

Now lie to yourself and pretend what I said isn’t true.

14:50 mark... clear as day shes inferring he was the head coach "from a winless record, to the schools first state championship"

First, thank you for answering and providing the link, as well as the time so I didn’t have to listen to that whole thing.

I will agree that she didn’t specify he was the defensive coordinator or an assistant coach, which may cause others to infer that he was the head coach. With that said, I disagree that it’s fair to say she necessarily implied he was head coach either.

(I’m not trying to play language police with you either, I will point out that I looked up “imply” and “infer” myself to confirm before posting)

Either way, this particular clip is far from a smoking gun to validate the subject “so the coach stuff is bs as well”.

In the thread about Valentina Gomez, exchange was posted -

How did she get rich?

Probably selling coke to Hunter.

It’s got six upvotes, including mine, because it’s FUNNY.

They are being disingenuous and inferring he had a bigger role than he did.

Totally disingenuous. Some might say the MOST disingenuous. When you look at what they’re doing with the disingenuous, it’s sad. They’re taking disingenuous to levels no one has ever seen before. I tell ya, if you don’t get out and vote, you’re not going to have a country anymore. Your stocks will crash, and Mexicans from insane asylums will take your jobs. Disingenuous.

Just like this was FUNNY too. It’s spot on.

Laugh a little people.

I haven't heard the claim "head" coach referenced by the Dems. I've read defensive coordinator, which is a coach, for a few days before he was announced as the dem VP candidate.

It's amazing how Trump exaggerates daily but if anyone else slightly exaggerates or someone exaggerates for them, it's a big deal.

And I'm not a big fan of either tickets so no need to read this as defense/attack of either Dems or GOP.

I just used Tom Brady as a name everyone knew that he wasn’t THE HEAD COACH of the team.

As a person who has experience working in college athletics, I can say that it is extremely common to read coaches bios that say “while at xyz university, he helped lead (the team) to a championship”

The statement “he motivated his players and led them to a state championship” is not false or incorrect. It lacks the context that he wasn’t the head coach - which may or may not alter the achievement.

This so much reminds me of the Palin launch. It has been a disaster for the Harris campaign.

The popular current take about VP selections is that they “should do no harm to the campaign”, but often have little impact otherwise save helping in their home state.

IMO, it was a good thing for Republicans that Harris picked Walz over Shapiro, who was thought of as more of a moderate and would have helped in a battleground state.

Walz, on the other hand, solidifies the ticket as leftist.

I guess I kinda agree that “young” Sarah Palin might have been brought in to balance the optics of the ticket like “heartland (don’t say white, but yeah, white guy)” Tim Walz - but in both cases what will ultimately define each is that they represented the far side of the party.

I'm one of the most conservative posters here. It's an unfortunate truth that ALL politicians lie. If we're being honest, Republicans lie just as much as Dems.

Yep. I already knew he was an assistant coach because I read about it when he was announced as the pick.

Meanwhile, Trump exaggerates every time he opens his mouth but that’s just him being him. No biggie.

Sure. Right after the part of their resume where it says “Assistant Coach.”

The only benefit to all this stuff on Waltz is to highlight Harris' poor judgement in subordinate.
