the vast majority of boomer parents didn’t pay for their kids’ college. That’s an undeniable fact

Give me every penny I put in back with interest and I’ll call it a day.

Yes give back all my money paid in plus compounded interest and then you can cancel it….

You may find that it is cheaper to keep paying….

Why do you start off so sexually vile and disgusting when the subject is gov't programs? Do you NOT want people to take you seriously?

No.
However, just 31% of millennials had/have student loan debt is an undeniable fact.

But they weren't. I just illustrated why. They had challenges too, just like any generation.

and then proceeded to pillage the future for their own gain to a huge effect.

I know this is the narrative, but I never know what people mean when they claim it...that generation seems like they did what pretty much anybody would have done given the same circumstances.

So be specific. Exactly how did the Boomers poison the economic well for everyone after them?

quote:

and left us with an unstable mess of corporate greed, social welfare,

Again, welfare started in the mid-1930s. Before Boomers were ever born. And unless you think there was a 21 year old Boomer out there somewhere who was instrumental in passing the Medicare/Medicaid bill in 1965 or a 20 year old Boomer who was instrumental in passing SNAP or other "War on Poverty" welfare programs in 1964, Boomers aren't the ones who saddled the country with social welfare programs.

Corporate greed. Corporate greed was around long before the Boomers. That's what proved the necessity for all of the anti-trust actions of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. You want to see some corporate greed, go take a look at some of the vertical and horizontal monopolies from back then.

So Boomers didn't start corporate greed. Did corporate greed get worse in the 80s, when Boomers would have been roughly between their early 20s and early 40s?

That's debatable, but it's generally accepted that whatever movement in that direction was made, it was due to the deregulation that happened in the 80s, not some unique quality of 20-40 year olds back then. And remember, few of them would have been old enough to be instrumental in the deregulation.

And again, we've established that Boomers didn't invent corporate greed. And it's only gotten worse in their wake. Even if it was true that they started it (it's not), there have been three generations after them that could have changed it and Boomers can't be responsible for what they (we) did or didn't do.

So...again, I don't see truth in that narrative.

I've read this a thousand times but it still amazes me how retarded a take it is. You have bought - hook, line and sinker - the Left's narrative designed with the purposes as climate change, racism everywhere, men can have babies. Congratulations.

Here's a simple fact, and I really mean this - it should be simple for you see and understand: life gets better and easier over time in the US. How you've been convinced otherwise is as sad as it is fascinating.

Buy your own insurance like the rest of us have to. Perhaps without unlimited Medicare, the market would respond by bringing prices back to earth

Medicare is $202 per month this year and Part G can be around $250 per month, which is in addition to what retirees have been forced to pay into the program for 30+ years. On the other hand, most of those on Medicaid have paid nothing and continue to pay nothing. Do your homework and direct your anger at the right folks.

I'm over sixty, I've been putting into the system for quite awhile and now you want to pull the rug from under me? Tell you what, give me all the cash I've put in at prime plus one and then maybe we can talk.

I missed being a boomer by one year. I was born in 1965. The ridiculous outrage against Boomers (probably me included) is comical.

I'll take tge bait. Give me my social security contributions (no interest) when I hit 62 and tell me to have a good life. Do the same with Medicare.
