This is going to be a complete shite show.

McCarthy should seek the most conservative ten Dems and tell them the GOP will not place a challenger in their districts for the next election if they vote for him. This is so embarassing.

Explain to me how they've won (other than exposing worthless RINOs).
1) Americans are convinced that the GOP is incompetent and centrists and independents see them as being hijacked by Trump supporters
2) No conservative legislation is even being debated right now
3) GOP moderates from purple districts are being forced to vote for MAGA Jim Jordan (who I think is a great Rep), essentially writing their opponents campaign ads for them.
4) Republican party looks like a cult of personality instead of a serious political party
5) This whole charade has shifted the Democrats from defending their asinine policies that led to inflation and now they are on the offensive pointing out of dysfunctional the GOP is
This was an early Christmas gift to the Democratic party and specifically Schumer and Biden, who know they will have no adversary capable of forcing their hand on anything.

I've been completely consistent. That you don't seem smart enough to grasp that isn't a "me" problem, it's a "you" problem.

Dems didn't do either of the scenarios you posted. They did what they always do.
Exactly what did they do? Have the balls to be specific in your statements instead of tossing around vague generalities.

Jeffries should do the same....he should find the mostl vulnerable five Republican reps and give them something major to vote for him. Would be the ultimate bitch slap.

Apparently, Jordan made a deal with McCarthy to strip most of Scalise's backers from their committees as well as the original group of 8 and word of this leaked out.
NBC News confirms: Before Jim Jordan's first defeat, the wife of Republican Rep. Don Bacon received anonymous messages warning him to back Jordan's speakership bid or risk being ousted.
One message: "Your husband will not hold any political office ever again. Your husband will not hold any political office ever again. What a disappoint [sic] and failure he is."
Another: "Why is your husband causing chaos by not supporting Jim Jordan? I thought he was a team player."

Actual deal or shite leaked by McCarthy to try and force his way back in?

I find that hard to believe. Not saying it's wrong just hard to believe that he would strip the House Majority Leader's supporters from their committee assignments seems absurd.

Especially considering he had been courting Scalise to try and get him and his supporters onboard with this.
McCarthy is a fricking snake and no one should trust him as far as they can throw him.

Rep Mace who Scalise raised money for, campaigned for, and actually got elected was the one pushing the Scalise is a racist narrative thanks to McCarthy offering her a better committee assignment. She is definitely a sleaze ball.

Good. They are. Exposing that incompetence is part of why I supported what Gaetz has done. Maybe this will convince some of the party members to get their heads out of their asses and actually try reigning in spending rather than playing the "go along to get along" game.
If they party falls because of accountability exposing their dysfunction, so be it.
quote:
2) No conservative legislation is even being debated right now
There wasn't a whole lot of it being debated anyway. Look at the shitty CR McCarthy, Graves, etc. pushed at the beginning of the summer. Holding spending to FY2022 levels? Suspending the debt ceiling for two years? Are you fricking kidding me?? Where's the conservatism in being more Democrats than Democrats?
quote:
3) GOP moderates from purple districts are being forced to vote for MAGA Jim Jordan (who I think is a great Rep), essentially writing their opponents campaign ads for them.
Our Founding Fathers put up far more than their jobs, they put their own lives and the lives of their families on the line to found this country. I'm supposed to feel sorry for Reps who put their personal political aspirations ahead of the good of the party or the country? frick 'em.
We need some massive fiscal constraint and that's going to take the balls of being willing to risk not being re-elected. If they can't handle a SOH vote, they certainly won't be able to handle what will come next.
quote:
4) Republican party looks like a cult of personality instead of a serious political party
That's really just repeating the latter half of Point 1.
quote:
5) This whole charade has shifted the Democrats from defending their asinine policies that led to inflation and now they are on the offensive pointing out of dysfunctional the GOP is
Agreed. See my response to your first point.
Solid rebuttal.
