Oh Muh why weren't their phones stolen but their money was ? You guys, lol. Because they are stopped and pay CASH bribes along the way. They get to keep their personal bags because the coyotes are there for PROTECTION and have permission to be there. The whole thing is about paying a tribute as you pass through each area. The tribute eliminates the risk. The tribute keeps you safe. Had they been Guatemalans with 7 dollars and a phone making the trek with no coyotes everything, even their shoes, would probably be stolen. But frick all that you guys got theories, man.
Every time I provide actual refutation if any claim it is automatically ignored, I am personally called every vile name in the book, and people revert back to a narrative that is easily googled for proof. Sluts, hookers, simps, getting laid, human trafficker, traitor, prison, paying coyotes, smuggling, ex wife, divorce, not taking care of my family, begging for donations, mid-life-crisis, anti-Trump, etc. All false. All refuted. All replies answered with actual quotes, citing asylum laws and so forth and nobody will budge a single inch off the narrative. It's one thing to be ignorant. It's another to CELEBRATE your ignorance and rage at the guy giving you the truth. Now you can have your opinion about illegal immigration and that's cool and I probably agree 90%, but when you just say dumb shite and I refute it with facts and then you just respond with a slur, you are just failing BIGLY.
GEOTUS on the day he left office:
Every two years they grandfather more and more arriving Venezualans in who are seeking asylum. Especially those, like these three, who can prove the violence against their families. In 2024 they will probably get grandfathered in when Brandon leaves office. Which is cool because then they wont get murdered by Maduro upon their return. I'm generally anti-murder of my friends.
3 great future Americans loved their first LSU game.
They filmed much of it on their non-stolen phones.
God bless them. God bless America. A truly compassionate country that stands with those fleeing Communist oppression and violence.

GEOTUS on the day he left office:
quote:
“The deteriorative condition within Venezuela, which presents an ongoing national security threat to the safety and well-being of the American people, warrants the deferral of the removal of Venezuelan nationals who are present in the United States,” Trump, on the eve of leaving the White House, said in a memo to secretaries of state and homeland security.
U.S. President-elect Joe Biden said in late October that he would “immediately” grant humanitarian protections to Venezuelans living in the United States, which would allow them to remain in the country and obtain work permits.

But actually going to a port of entry ( they did) and requesting asylum ( they did) is perfectly legal. They did not just walk into the interior and disappear.
I’m good with this, then. Still not good with paying a coyote, though.

But he didn't. He said he wouldn't know how to do so. Oh wait, he said he did pay them a considerable sum of money. Oh wait, he refuted that. You're not paying attention. You're just not a good person like he is. God bless America!

Did the midlife crisis guy engage in illegal activity?

Not true, I am exceedingly polite. To you for instance, relentlessly polite.

I was replying to moneyg, not you.
Your style is to make everything about yourself and post too much personal information because you think you're a really great guy.

I don’t know. I don’t know if it’s a crime to pay the cartel money to be a coyote.

That all depends on which one of his stories is true. In the OP, yes. Zero question.

Can’t believe I’m wading in here, but was it ever explained why they didn’t just stop and stay at the girlfriend’s (you know, their actual relative) luxury Costa Rican villa instead?
I mean I guess he sort of did, but I don’t understand why they were at risk but not the girlfriend. Seems like the red tape there maybe could have been easier to overcome (how did the girlfriend do it???) but what do I know?

"I'd suggest that there is no scenario where a 19 year old illegal immigrant impregnating a young girl wouldn't be rape."
If he was referring to statutory rape, particularly of a significantly younger girl, that is obviously WAY out of line.
"Having said that, even if he had made the comment to you, knowing that your daughter is 20 years old, it's still very much out of line."
Right or wrong, I read it as referring to the potential for consensual sex, delivered in a way to needle puritanical or xenophobic male posters. If so, he was taking a shot but in a way that is not out of bounds for this board. If you're right and he was referring to rape, that is miles out of bounds.

I said "girlfriend's family". My girlfriend has a very modest apartment in San Jose. The sister can make her own decisions but has a completely full house. Furthermore, and this is the part I've said several times, to stay in Costa Rica they need immigration papers. They could not get them even though they applied. They were specifically afraid of being deported back to Venezuela from Costa Rica, so they stayed as long as they could until the deadline, and then left.
The GF has Costa Rican RESIDENCY and a US Travel Visa.So she can legally be in either Costa Rica or the US. She can just fly in on a plane.
Does that clarify things?

So, the girlfriend and her family in Costa Rica got the immigration papers to settle down there, but these people with you did not (or could not) do so? It just seems to me, if that was the case, it would have been (or maybe should have been) an easier thing to work out for these new Venezuelan family members than whatever it is y'all are now trying to do (and have done to date).
The cynic in me would say they just didn't try too hard with that route (either the exiting Costa Rican residents, or this new family group from Venezuela, or both) and they just wanted to find a way to this country come hell or high water (and maybe your gf's family wanted them out of THEIR hair).
Either way, I guess I wish you well in this endeavor.

I appreciate the well wishes.
My GF's family aren't related to these three. And their deportation was imminent, so they left rather than face jail or worse in Venezuela. I offered to rent a place for them in Herradura and it would give them a measure of protection, but they were afraid they'd get rounded up. They felt it was a much better option for them to seek asylum here.

Well, shite. I missed that, I guess. I thought they were all related, which made it seem much more strange.
Not that it's not strange as is.

16 pages strong and still going, this board could care less about your compasion for people. fun part is most call themselves christians and complain about you doing christian things they would never consider doing.

Man, maybe there's something "christian" going on here but it's wrapped up in a whole lotta midlife crisis in costa rica banging young refugees.
