Some government workers are off with full pay. Not only teachers. There's no such thing as laying off government workers, no matter what. The jobs and benefits are for life.

Well, go try it sometime...plenty of money, cushy hours and time off...then get back to us...10-20 years from now.

seeing my students face to face for about hour of week.
So 1 hour a week is enough to earn your pay 100%, also many schools are just shut down not doing at home school. Dont worry when the tax $$$ is not enough to pay the budget next year you will have a pay cut.

you should know me better than that

Considering I have 30 students and see them face to face for an hour each. I’d say yes, plus my other duties. I’d say yes
How about it smartass? Want to do the math of hours per week now? Oh that just took your gotcha narrative didn’t it?

Cool. Then the teachers will go on strike and you can be stuck watching your miserable kids for the first 3 month of next school year.

30 students is still only 30 hours, maybe you should be more productive. Im tired of hearing teach complain about not making enough. You knew the pay when you went into the job.
Also think admin who are on 12 month contracts should be reduced in pay as they have less responsibilities right now.

Maybe raise your kid and teach them basic social skills so teachers don’t have to fix the fricked up parenting you provide. Then they won’t complain of being underpaid. Maybe don’t ask teachers to pay for supplies out of own pocket? Just a hunch
I’d say being able to see 30 kids for an hour grading papers and making lesson plans that are individualized and still having some me time is way more productive than you’ll ever be.

Teachers shouldn't be allowed to go on strike, they do this crap on purpose. Deal with the issues in the summer. If they really cared about the students they wouldnt strike during the school year.

Our school gave my children two weeks of busy work three weeks ago and I haven’t heard back reference new assignments. We tried to reach out to one of my daughter’s teachers for clarification on an assignment and she didn’t return the text or our voice mail. I don’t see where they are “working” any.
This is YOUR experience....it’s not the majority experience.
