re: Tesla Vehicles? Why would I buy one?

I don't have it anymore. I originally planned to get another, but I just consolidated into one vehicle that can do everything I need. The car was still a blast. I guess I'm having a hard time understanding why it's a scam.
Tesla is one of two american car companies to never file bankruptcy. They are crazy safe and packed with tech unlike any car. My only reservation was repairs if something where to go wrong, because I know nothing about how those things work. Luckily it never needed any maintenance over the three years I had it.

I drive one, a Model S. We purchased it because my wife was burning too much fuel getting my daughter to school and back (to the tune of $350/month in gas). The car didn't cost any more than buying a new Yukon Denali, which is what we had before.
The Tesla drives like magic. Its not the most luxurious car on the road but it cost me about 4-cents per mile whereas the Yukon cost approximately 20-cents per mile. Anyone good with numbers can run the calculations and see the benefit. The cost benefit ratio leans heavily toward electric vehicles. Yes, I could have bought a Nissan Leaf of some other electric car or I could get one with 4-sec 0-60 and a 5.4 out of 5 safety rating from the NTSB.
I'll be happy to keep driving that car. I really don't care who thinks it's a scam.

Auto pilot. That is the main reason for getting one.
Waiting for other cars to come out with something as good.

You're going to have to wait about 10-15 years for autopilot

Autopilot currently exists.

What is the Tesla towing capacity compared to the Denali?
Posted on 5/30/19 at 3:59 pm to deeprig9
I'm sure it sucks, but I've got my truck for any towing/hauling. The car is nothing more than a really efficient grocery getter

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but if you wreck it, the repair cost is very high and the wait time for the repair is awful.
No. Thanks. I'll stick with my Honda.

Thanks for bumping this thread! Found the one “Nikola” LA plate on a Tesla this morning and was hoping I’d get to share. You know they have to have one of these in each state so felt like a pretty neat find at the time

Are you seriously unaware that it is already out?
I mean are you actually serious??
I have ridden in two Teslas, both of which had autopilot.
That's means one of two things.
1. You are wrong. You speak like you know and actually seek to ridicule the statement when you are wrong, which in my opinion makes you even more wrong.
2. Both Teslas I have ridden in are from the future. In your words 10-15 years.
I guess since you could never be wrong, the cars must've been from the future.
Oh you know what, I simply googled it and oh my God, you were wrong.
Thank goodness. I was actually concerned I had gotten lost in a time vortex.

I don’t have a problem with Teslas but I think it’s funny you are comparing it to a new Yukon Denali

You know if there's a feature called autopilot on a car, it doesn't make it autonomous, right?
Why don't you get in one, and turn the autopilot on, drive on the 5 and take a snooze to your local Beyond Meat. Let me know how it goes.

The batteries are horrible for the environment

People tested that on YouTube driving down the interstate and they were fine.

My truck is a Denali. It's a good truck, but the 6.2L engine SUCKS. That and 15 mpg were the main reasons that we switched the wifes car to electric. Each vehicle in my garage has a purpose. The car is nothing more than a car that saves me money on fuel and puts my loved ones in the safest vehicle that I could find.
