Thanks to the Democrats in Congress not wanting border security....there...FIFY.

And I'm also home today...actually working and getting paid for working from home. Yes, I can work from home as a contractor...and watch ESPN...but I have my work laptop, VPN connection and speakerphone for telecons.

A liberal will stay home, watch porn and thank taxpayers and brag about it while blaming the President. A Conservative will stay home, work, and place the blame where it belongs...on Chuck and Nancy and those borderless loving fools.

We are OKed to work through lunch, then we’re not supposed to. Like you, im going to work through the furlough so my projects keep their early-mid Jan deadlines. My reports are going to chief engineers all through the organization, so I’ll be judged on the quality of work not anything else. It’s an opportunity to wall myself off and make it right.

And I also have work from another site from a recent launch.

Essential and non-essential employees is a foreign concept to those of us who don’t work for government given the simple truth that there’s no such thing as a “non-essential” private sector employee. Businesses that retain “non-essential” employees are soon out of business, by definition."

This is a fallacy. Companies could easily get rid of marketing and sales and general support/admin positions, but continue to support existing business on day 2 with essential operational staff.

The business will eventually fail - yes - but this exactly the approach taken by the government.

Non essential staff generally provide a suppprt function to mission critical operations without which those operations likely wouldn’t succeed.

So let’s not pretend that non essential are worthless.

What’s worthless are programs that are not mission critical, or BS “missions” that citizens would be just fine without. Blame congress for that.

Now it makes sense why you are a liberal! You are the typical lazy POS Federadl employee that can succeed at a real job where you can be held accountable (i.e. “workfare”).

Oh, I have a job. It's just that for the duration of the shutdown my job is to do nothing.

And I'm a contractor, not an employee. So authorization of back pay isn't an issue for me, it's an issue for my employer.

Thanks Donald!

Not a liberal and have never voted for a Democrat. I'm just not dumb enough to think any party is *not* lying to their supporters.

I can't because my work involves classified data. I'm explicitly not allowed to work from home.

Me too but I don't have one of those useless non-essential jobs you have. It's all fun and games now but just wait until 4 or 5 months from now without a paycheck. LOL Post back then. I hope Trump keeps all you useless government workers shutdown for the rest of his term. If we don't need you now then when will we ever need you? Start downsizing the government. Things like this bring out to light what we pay for and really don't need. He should up the amount to the original $25B and hold out until he gets it or his time in office runs out. That could be 6 more years.
