And this generation thing, the line blurs.
This is 100% true and the definition of the generations is probably used more for target marketing/ advertising than any other “segment”.
Looking at history and psychology from a generational perspective is a somewhat new (~30~ year) concept, for lack of a better term. The “acceptance” of transgenders as anything other than mentally ill is an even newer phenomenon.

Trump Is a Boomer and without him none of those GenXers would be serving. Put that in your pipe jack and smoke it.

The boomers have seen this coming a mile away. From where I'm sitting they made a decision to hold onto power as long as possible and get what they can for as long aa they can.

BTW, I like the boat picture. I had one until I got in the MC wreck. I can no longer fish nor safely drive a fast boat. Fun to see others though.
That picture is Ken Stabler from 1977. My favorite Alabama QB, although I wasn’t born when he played at Alabama.
I do enjoy fast boats and cars though. My wife is not a fast woman, but they were fun once.

Okay boomer. I never said you were bullying me. You brought it up as a fabricated smear. Ie, ad hominem tactic.(look it up if you don’t understand ) And that’s my point, your whole tactic was to criticize rather than engage on the merits of the argument. Phrases akin to ‘that’s the best you got’ rather than say why, with logic and analysis, you disagreed with my points make that clear.
If you got by in life without having to engage on the merits, then that indicates you made easy money in your life.

I'm boomer. Saw it coming. Predicted it. Landslide.

My boomer parents saw it coming and love it

You brought up the notion that I'm a bully, dumbass. You know one can scroll back and read our posts, right?

And this is probably where the bullying nonsense came in. You posted bullshite, and I engaged it on its merits as bullshite.
I mean, let's review quickly - your argument for why boomers were some kind of awful and fricked the country over was zoning laws and they don't retire when you want their job. Do you believe that argument warrants a serious response?
If you post a rational argument as to why you believe boomers have fricked you, your generation or the country over, I'd be happy to respond to it like I do all well-thought out arguments, whether I agree with them or not.

Ok boomer. No need to curse. Take an asprin to lower your blood pressure.
I dare you to quote where I accused you of bullying me. I won't hold my breath. You will not because you cannot.
For one thing, contractors can'tcost effectively build starter homes these days. Compliance costs, permitting fees, zoning policies, etc. all make that unfeasible. Do you realize that all the time boomers run to city counsel and urban planning meetings hollering: NOT IN MY BACKYARD!!!?

I’m a “Boomer” and I think it’s fricking awesome.
Seems as though you just assume things about certain “groups” instead of making the extra effort to make your judgments on an individual basis.
A lazy approach that would seem consistent with many other individuals who identify themselves as “Progressives”.

You brought up the notion that I'm a bully, right? Do you think it's unreasonable for me to read that and not have it come across like you're feeling bullied?

Then why don't you run to city council meetings to argue against the evil boomers? Why don't you run for city council?
It's kind of weird. On the one hand, you/others go on about how dim/lazy boomers are. They didn't get what they have through smarts and hard work. They were born on 3rd base, right? Then on the other hand, you argue that boomers, who are less than 30% of the adult population and not even the largest generation, a super geniuses and control everything.
You get into the weeds on this and IMO that doesn't serve you well. Just a suggestion, okay? So let me pose something for you to respond to -
In broad strokes, the argument I've seen is that for the first time in the American experience, generations younger than boomers will live with a lower standard of living than boomers have, and it's boomers' fault. My view is that narrative is being championed/sold by people that gain something by young people believing it, much like the climate change industry needs millions to believe the weather is going to kill us to remain awash in cash.
Consider this - for that narrative to be true, among other things you've got to believe that somehow the dramatic improvements in technology magically skip over certain generations and land squarely on certain other generations. That defies logic to me.
I think the cold, hard facts tell us that life is better and easier today than it's ever been. And when I say easier, I don't mean that people don't have to work hard. I mean what you're working hard for is further up the needs and wants list than it was 50 years ago.

GEN-X …the generation that just wants to be left alone always has to come out and straighten shite out…
Posted on 2/25/25 at 1:27 pm to Seldom Seen
Go post that on the GenX subreddit. That place will literally implode. Going by that group, you would think GenX was the most liberal of them all.
