Yep. They are doing more than their share to bankrupt the country.

Naa bruh, you got your ideology all fricked up. Unions will once again save this country. It’s You v. The Suits, you’re only protection is a union. If I take out a 30 year mortgage on a house, I want to be pretty confident that I will have employment for those 30 years, a union is your only safety net.

Sometimes life happens though and God has other ideas. If everyone got to succeed in life, no one would try to anymore

Blackrock is definitely going to boost your social credit score for this.

Agreed. Employees just aren’t loyal anymore. A handshake and looking someone in the eye used to mean something.

I hate unions and feel they have far surpassed their true usefulness of competitive wages and safe working conditions. However, growing up with a dad that was in the corporate world and seeing how at every poor quarter or 2 in a row, the company would absolutely slash frontline personnel while CEO’s and c suite executives made millions in bonuses and stock awards because they “cut cost” for the quarter, and now that I’m living in the corporate world and am seeing how middle to upper management are not about people, achieve, technology, or even a job well done but rather about nothing but money, I could see how many younger people would want the protections of unions.

You should not talk like this. After all the Supreme Court ruled that corporations are people. Thank the GOP and Conservatives for taking that issue to the Supreme Court and be happy they can now buy up federal elections.

Not only are housing costs increasing, but also health care and insurance keep rising. While some employers have swallowed some of that increase, if you have a family plan, they are less likely to pay for Junior and your spouse’s coverage, so you pay those costs pretax.

Luckily, I am single with no kids. I have often joked for some that if insurance keeps going up for family coverage and your wages are not enough to cover the insurance do you have to pay your employer to work there just for the insurance.

Now in some areas like along the gulf coast, insurance for flood, wind and hail, and automobile insurance have been increasing faster than inflation and putting a strain on some locals.

Eta
We should be encouraging more mom and pop style small business around blue collar work. This is how you avoid talk of unionization as well as corporate machines. Make it easier for people to start business.

Perhaps because we can't fricking afford to increase wages. I'm struggling to make payroll, literally dipping into my personal savings to make payroll on a weekly basis now for about 4 months, while payroll expense is exponentially higher than any other COG on my P&L. I also barely pay myself anything. So you tell me, continue the status quo or close my doors, no one has a job anymore and I pivot into the next chapter in life.

fricking tell me what the right call is here.

This economy has fricked everyone. But on the flip side of your coin, workers are barely able to pay for rent and groceries. Should they also continue the status quo and become homeless?

You don't have to work for either. Theres never been more choices or chances to advance.

Its been a workers market for the last three years, and people still crave the Seniority lifestyle.

They shouldn't necessarily be loyal. Being loyal to an employer can turn you into a doormat.

How is hat relevant to why young people see a need to unionize? You could quit and go on welfare by popping out a couple kids. Everyone has choices.

Correct. The middle class is being squeezed out and it's mainly due to corporate greed. One of the most important issues in the country by far.
