Her congressional office at the Capitol was across the hall from Ralph Abrahams when he was my congressman. My FIL is big into the American Legion and had made friends with Ralph. My FIL also had a veteran/cop friend living in Wyoming and was represented my Liz. This friend was working to get some VA benefits sorted out and my FIL called Ralph about it. Ralph walked across the hall and put Liz on the phone. They added my FILs friend to the call to gather info, and within a week the problem at the VA was solved.
