Interesting that she picked that song.

It is the only one where tool did a full video shoot of only danny and everything danny was doing on his kit. If you spend some youtube time, you'll see how rare this was and that is why all the drum fanatics on youtube have been going crazy reacting/analyzing/covering since the video was released.

Sounds a lot like Neil Peart's drum style.

I don't even like Rush's music (Geddy Lee sounds like Pinky from Pinky and the Brain) and I know that Neil Peart is the Drum God. End of story.)

Sleep Token II playthrough of The Summoning is something to behold

#2's offering on the drumeo channel is also more than worth your time. It is a full hour with #2 breaking down different things and playing essentially an entire album.

Personally, I'm not a fan of anything slipknot does. It all feels like they view themselves as tool but their musicality is on the level of 5 year olds banging pots.

I always like reading these discussions to see if anyone ever gives Carter Beauford his props. Nobody ever does.

I cannot listed to bands like Mushuggah. It's not music. It's just screaming.

The heaviest I'll go is Gojira and some of their stuff is too heavy for my liking

But on the topic of great drummers, Mario Duplantier from Gojira is pretty solid

You should listen to Bernard Purdie's work on Steely Dan's Home at last from Aja.

Hendrix's drummer Mitch Mitchell should always get a mention when talk turns to the great drummers. The original guy from Sabbath was one of my favorites too. Both were jazz drummers before landing in rock and roll.

A lot of great jazz drummers that are never really mentioned in these conversations. Buddy Rich for example. One of the greatest to ever do it.

I’ve been OGT since ‘92, from the first EP

I sincerely hope Danny records more of himself like this. It’s a rare look behind the curtain.

Eloy is great and Corey Taylor is an exceptional vocalist, but you're correct. Somehow Skipknot manages to be less than the sum of its parts. They're just "meh" in my opinion.
