The with the belt of 7.62x54R and carrying a 7.62x39 with no crew serviced or 7.62x54R belt fed weapons was proof that either they are not ready for prime time or this was a photo op. Either way someone set them up to fail. They got the best possible outcome, provided mild amusement. Worst case a decent 3 man team wipes them out.
