DeSantis.
Cruz would make an excellent president and he's 100% unelectable on the national stage. Nothing will change that.
Pence.
Trump I just don't see changing and it hurts his chances. My preference for DeSantis is mostly his electability.

Per usual, you struggle to follow a conversation.

He’s too socially conservative to win a national race. The media is pretending to love him because he stabbed Trump in the back.
They would turn on him so quickly, he might accidentally get attracted to women in his confusion.
He’s a completely untenable candidate for Republicans. His attempt to run is Liz Cheney level delusion.

Why did you even put Pence as an option, that arse hat wont even poll above 3-5%

I think this train of thought is misguided, he just did his job like he was supposed to do. If there was any stabbing in the back it was from the court system for refusing to listen to the case, which ultimately weakened people’s perceptions of election integrity.

This is valid. It’s strange that conservatives can’t run conservatives candidates, yet the left can run liberal lunatics. It’s the same as the court shouldn’t have struck down Roe vs Wade because that costs conservatives the red wave in the midterms. Why vote for stuff if we we don’t want it to happen? If we want conservative principles then shouldn’t we be voting for conservative candidates?

Because while Dems are running on a message that their opponents are racist white supremacists, Republicans are running on a message that their voters are racist white supremacists.

Out of all the candidates, I would vote for Pence. I’m a democrat. He proved that he’s for the country and not himself.

Short of suspending Posse Commatious (not sure I spelled it correctly) there is nothing he could do. That was on the cities and states involved, the feds (Trump) did offer assistance.

From what was known at the time (or professed to be known) that was a prudent call. CV19 was a bio-weapon that had killed countless Chinese and there needed to be a time for getting it under control. After the initial period things could have been handled differently but January - March of 2020 wasn't that poorly handled without the benefit of hindsight.

The last year of his presidency was a truly terrible year for everyone in this country.
And yet, it is still better than where we currently are. Way better. Hell, the last year of his presidency could be considered a glory year by comparison.

This is a two horse race. It's either Trump or Desantis. Desantis already said he would not run if Trump was running so there is only 1 right answer.
At the end of the day it isn't going to matter who will run in 2024 because as long as mail-in ballots and harvesting is present in the swing states the path to 270 for a republican , even Desantis, is impossible. Ron would be better to sit our 2024 then tarnish his reputation with a loss. Republicans should be able to take the house and senate in 24 so Ron sitting out might be ok. There is a risk tho of losing the supreme court by the dems having another 4 years. Thomas/Alito are going to retire sooner than later.

Just a little background on Cruz, I like the man and his drive, but -
Cruz runs for President?
Here are the facts in existence per the birth and citizenship of “Ted” Rafael Edward Cruz:
1. He was born 12-22-1970 in Calgary, Alberta Canada.
2. At the time of his birth his parents were voting citizens of Canada.
3. In 1970, Canada DID NOT allow dual-citizenship His mother had to renounce her U.S. Citizenship to become a citizen of Canada. “Ted” Cruz was born a Canadian citizen only.
LINK LINK
4. He was issued a Canadian birth certificate at the time of his birth from the province of Alberta.
LINK
5. “Ted” Cruz has used his Senatorial privilege to “seal” his immigration and college records. All FOIA requests made to unseal those records have all been denied.
6. “Ted” Cruz was born a Canadian citizen, had to “renounce” that citizenship, and had to apply to become a “naturalized” US citizen. (If he ever became a legal citizen at all.)
7. By his own admission, “Ted” Cruz was a Canadian citizen until May 2014.
LINK LINK
8. Without any form of U.S. Citizenship documentation, it appears as though he was a Non-Citizen at the time Rafael Edward "Ted" Cruz began (illegally?) serving as the junior United States senator for Texas since 2013.
9. He is NOT under any circumstances a “natural born citizen” of the United States and is ineligible for the Presidency or Vice Presidency.
