Someone makes a thread about Trump responding to some publication saying he praised Cuomo.

Trump said that he did NOT praise Cuomo.

Look at this Cuomosexual. Quit being a disingenuous idiot.

Trump has been trying to make the ridiculous case case that New York did a better job than Florida did with COVID which is patently untrue. Cuomo was the face of COVID response for a period.

Trump is just trying to deflect his own failings in handling COVID

Ok. Then he is 100% correct on that singular piece of minutiae. He did not praise Cuomo.

If praising NY is not praising Cuomo than bashing Florida is not bashing Desantis.

Something that’s basically always glanced over, perhaps by design in some cases, is that Desantis dis indeed have a quite bumpy road during the first portion of the so-called pandemic with the same exact unfortunate issues that Cuomo has been put under the public spotlight for, and rightfully so. That’s the negligent preparation for and approach to the specific area of nursing homes, as we all know of course. Florida’s nursing home death rate was every bit as “troublesome” as New York’s, however Desantis didn’t receive anywhere near the level and extent of bad press over it. And it was further brought to light that one particular reason for that was because Florida was recording those and keeping stats for that specific category in a less than straightforward way. More than just an insinuation being that the motivations behind that was to “slip the noose” that was being waved in Cuomo’s face at the same time.

So IMO it’s reasonable to opine that the overall basis for this Trump-Desantis-Cuomo dust up is that Desantis has been critical of things for which he didn’t exactly set the world on fire himself.

There’s no minutiae. Just what he said, and the media noise and distraction the jackals have created around it. The dude has literally done nothing but shite on Andrew Cuomo for years. Comparing Ron to Cuomo is the insult of insults.

Under Ron DeSanctimonious as Governor, Florida was the third WORST State in Deaths by Covid.

COVID affects old people. Florida ranks second in the percentage of residents over age 65. New York ranks 25th.

When you look at those numbers, DeSantis did better than Cuomo.

Add to that Cuomo and nursing homes and there is no comparison.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.

Think for ONE second why Trump would do that.

It MIGHT be because he knows NY and Cuomo did an absolutely shite job during Covid. So, where’s the praise?

If 2 teams with 1-11 records play each other, saying that the losing team is bad isn't the same as saying the winning team is good.

Maybe that DeSantis did so poorly, he lost more citizens than one of the most arse states in the country?

Is that even a stretch?

Oh
My
God

This is genuinely the first time I’ve realized what people are talking about when they say Ronbot(terribly cringe moniker).

I’m a big fan of the guy but y’all are something else.

New York, New Jersey and California failed in their handling of the COVID-19 pandemic because of stringent lockdowns and policies, while Florida was among the best-performing states in the country, a new study has found.

Overall, the bottom 10 on the study’s “report card” were dominated by states that had the most severe pandemic lockdowns and were among the last to finally reopen schools.

“Shutting down their economies and schools was by far the biggest mistake governors and state officials made during COVID, particularly in blue states,” Stephen Moore, one of the study’s authors and co-founder of the Committee To Unleash Prosperity, said Monday.

Despite now-disgraced former Gov. Andrew Cuomo initially being hailed for his strict response to the pandemic, the Empire State performed “poorly on every measure” — ranking 49th overall, according to the study.
