you make in support of a candidate for president that is more liberal and more establishment-friendly than many on the Right want as a first choice for president.

SDV voted for Gavin Newsom in California and moved his family to Florida so he could vote for Charlie Crist and turn Florida into the crap he fled from.

What political trends do you see where the "right" nominee will win anyways?

It starts somewhere.

Trumpism destroyed the Republican party and strengthened Democrats.

Maybe you folks should focus on the true enemies of your ideology and not the enemies of your leader.

Their "ideology" is based on the same "oppressor vs Oppressed" as the left wing populists.

It has no direction it just destroys things.

In 2020, there were nearly 6 million people who voted for at least 1 down-ballot Republican but not Trump.
Would have been a landslide if Trump wasn’t on the ticket. Would have picked up the swing districts and states needed.

One tho g to pay attention to in polling is the “generic republican”. Genetic Republican is kicking Trumps arse (and Biden’s) these days. Thst should tell them something, but it won’t

Yep. Trump was the weak link on the GOP side in 2020.

He was in 2016 as well. What's funny is that 2016 was a red wave. GOP had control of the Senate, House, and controlled more state legislatures than they had in decades. GOP won the Popular Vote in House and Gubernatorial races, and if you remove California since there was no Republican candidate for Senate, the GOP won the Popular Vote in the Senate. Meanwhile, Trump lost the Popular vote by nearly 3 Million votes and over 2%.

The GOP dominated, yet Trump needed down-ballot Republicans pulling his fat arse over the finish line and Jill Stein taking votes away from HRC in the rust belt just to barely sneak by. If the candidate was pretty much anyone other than Trump in 2016, GOP would've won the Popular Vote for President as well and gotten more down-ballot Republicans elected.

Everyone knew Trump was running again, including DeSantis. It was a poor choice by Ron to enter.

Didn’t he also change Florida’s law so he could run?

Hes not even discussing issues any more. Just grand schemes that can never be done and attacking people who arent loyal to him.

when youre scared to debate, you have to take the low road.

Was it a poor choice, or was it a grievous act of betrayal worthy of political ostracization regardless of track record as governor?
