He wants this issue out in the open so the American People can see the arguments that Dems make AGAINST secure elections. Pretty smart actually.
The argument against is pretty simple. The Federal Government should not be interfering in State run election processes per the Constitution of the United States

This is just a way to fast track it to the SCOTUS.
An EO is always DOA here, so what would be fast-tracked, exactly?

interfering
Interesting word when trying to make sure people can’t and do t vote illegally
Were you upset when Nancy Pelosi and the Dems were trying to nationalize elections not too long ago?

quote:Nope. FIrst, making some EO that will be immediately shot down only weakens your future positions. It establishes you as a loser. And it weakens our position when Democrats want to abuse the process later.
You don’t think these things can work in tandem?
Second, Trump has done nothing to follow the obvious and successful path Scott Pressler has demonstrated. He did notihng after 2020, and will do nothing now. I'm starting to believe he'd rather whine and make futile attempts because he avoids the successful path like the plague.

It may be simple, but it's incorrect.
Article 1, Section 4, I posted it earlier, here it is again:
quote:
The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing (sic) Senators.
You and SFP can claim that your position is due to tradition, but you cannot accurately and honestly claim that it is per the Constitution.
The quoted part above is what the Constitution says.

And one more time, for anyone who still acts like this doesn't exist in the Constitution:

Yes. Do you believe one person by himself should be able to set the election rules for the whole country?
Possibly. Especially if those rules are consistent across the entire nation.
-Something like requiring proof of citizenship (born here or naturalized), photo ID to show that the person voting is the person on the list. This ID should be provided to anyone for free.
-In-person voting on the day of, absentee are allowed but require a legitimate reason for not being able to vote in person, such as out of the country, hospitalized or something similar.
-Election day should be a national holiday.
-Voting should be with paper documents such as scantron and the ballots should be read by machines that are not connected to the internet.
-Also we should have severe penalties for people who commit election fraud.
