Michael Tracey has a pretty good tweet storm going about that.

How are Trump's comments about classified information from the 2016 campaign relevant to whether he committed the crimes alleged in 2022? Answer: they're not. However, they could be relevant if you were putting together a political oppo brief. Which is what this seems to be

It's just stated as fact that Trump was "not authorized" to possess materials he alone had the authority to authorize possession of. Couldn't authorize himself to possess materials in his own personal authority? A contested political claim, dressed up as an objective fact claim

Prior to last year, former presidents were assumed to have "a high degree of discretion" over compliance with the Presidential Records Act. This isn't about Trump being "above the law," it's about repeatedly inventing new legal theories specifically to criminalize Trump's conduct

1. if there is a recording of Trump saying this

2. if the witnesses can corroborate

3. no other exculpatory evidence

He's in trouble and probably better start plea deal negotiations.

As a pretty hardcore Trumpist, how do you feel about this?

Honestly I hate this. I don't want Trump to be the nominee, but I do not want him going down like this either. I hope it isn't true at all.

Let there be no doubt this is entirely a political prosecution but good God he carelessly walks right into the traps they set for him.

No, you’re just stupid enough to be shocked at what they tell you to be shocked about.

The war is lost now. He's given out our battle plans. What do we have to do, surrender?

I believe Trump cannot be bought or coerced. I believe most every politician has been bought or blackmailed.

Can DeSantis be bought or blackmailed? I don't know but why take the chance? We have one more shot at electing a known commodity in this regard. One and only one.

Trump, in sum and substance, made the following statements, among others as memorialized by Trump Attorney 1:

a. I don't want anybody looking, I don't want anybody looking through my boxes, I really don't, I don't want you looking through my boxes.

b. Well, what if we, what happens if we just don't respond at all or don't play ball with them.

c. Wouldn't it be better if we just told them we don't have anything here?

d. Well, look, isn't it better if there are no documents.

What page is this on??

It sucks. But there is nothing I can do.

Luckily I do not put my faith in any politician so the let down in real life is just, meh.

Desantis probably didn't know about a relatively obscure comic strip from the turn of the century was the origin of the phrase Milquetoast and use it in a highbrow, ironic attack on his former Press Secretary "Milk Toast".

So checkmate, Trump

Even Trump can be bought. Why do you think he pushed the vaccines? And the pharmaceutical companies still turned around and fricked him.
