Can someone explain to me what Manafort was guilty of and how it connected to Trump. Legit question and explain it to me like I'm an idiot.
You do realize none of that matters, right?
Impeachment is a political tool. Oh, sure, it says "high crimes and misdemeanors". But what appeal process does an impeached President have? Zero.
Congress can vote to impeach, and the Senate can vote to convict, regardless of the so called "crimes." It ends up being whatever 435 representatives say it is.
Does anyone in their right mind believe that Bill Clinton would have survived an impeachment trial if he'd had Jimmy Carter's popularity and economic numbers?
Guilt or innocence has nothing to do with it. It's all about politics.

If they run on impeachment, they had better be ready to deliver on impeachment. If they deliver on impeachment, they’re setting the stage for the continued devolution of Washington power. And for the next Democrat President to be impeached on political grounds only.
Of course. And it never even occurs to Dems that "with whatever measure ye mette...it shall be metted again unto you". And we walked on the moon. Geez!

He's not getting impeached without a Dem majority for starters.
Even still he’s not getting impeached unless the Dems have a pretty big majority in the house. You’re not going to have every single Dem in the house vote for impeachment.
I don't think they want Mike Pence to be President.

A poll? Lol Where did u see anything about a poll? This is a bet and I think ppl are coming to realize its a legit possibility Trump gets impeached.
You clearly don't know how betting works.

That’s where “might makes right” ends up.

Impeached for what exactly?

Needing 2/3 of the Senate says otherwise.
I could be mistake, but being impeached and being convicted are two separate ordeals. It's very unlikely he's convicted by the Senate, but the House could impeach him regardless.

You’re correct I misread his OP.

No, you're correct.
The wild cards in the Senate then would be...
1. how many GOP Senators has Trump pissed off.
2. how many Dem Senators really don't want to see a President Mike Pence.
I could see Senators from each side crossing over.

I know how unpopular polls are, but 538 has an median projection of 226 Dems to 209 Republicans after November elections. I'd think that would give them enough wiggle room to impeach.
The Dems had a 257 to 178 advantage in 2009 and they barely got Obamacare passed.

It was her turn.
And Manafort cheated on his taxes 12 years ago.
