Ocelots are native to the US. They are almost extirpated but they are still here, mostly on one ranch in south Texas. The species as a whole will be just fine but we may lose the last of the US population.

So disingenuous...or just ignorant? Border security and immigration are specifically enumerated. "Small government" conservatives you love to try and chastise are fans of the constitution and the 10th Amendment. Do you think border control falls under the 10th Amendment?

No...you are a mentally ill imbecile that needs to feel intellectually superior...which is why you are a conspiracy nut that thinks he figured something out that millions of much much smarter and more important people can't see.

Seriously. Seek help before you hurt yourself or others.

One more time, do you think the wall is going to be one continuous monster?

I honestly have no idea

it is constantly changing

if you all tell me that y'all are fine with breaches, then fine, perhaps my perception would change

in southwest Texas?

There are several lakes From El Paso heading East. There is also the Pecos River that drains into the Rio Grande. The only area really without noticeable rivers other than the Rio Grande is near Big Bend national park. That being stated, rivers and lakes aren't the sole water source in arid regions. Rainfall creating temporary lakes also form, and even create flash flooding events in those areas.

In addition to this, if nature has taught us anything, it's that animals will adapt and will find a water source, no matter what.

I've stated from the beginning that I believe enforcing our immigration laws and tightening down on sanctuary cities and employers who have illegals would have a greater impact on curbing illegal immigration. However, the impact of a physical wall would deter much immigration from south of Mexico's border. One of my main complaints, however, of a wall was the impact it would have on wildlife in the area. That being said, why don't we wait to see where the wall will be, and how it would be designed. It is possible to build a wall with breaks in the wall. Rationally thinking, having a break in the wall that spans a few miles could be done, while also having a heavier border patrol prescence in those areas. I'm also assuming the wall will have cameras every so often and popular crossing points. I can also assume that a wall is not needed for 100% of the border due to the terrain, depth, current speed of the Rio Grande in certain areas. I think we all need to stop thinking so short sided on either side of the positive and negative impact of a wall, and that a wall is simply 1 big line from one end to another. That, frankly, isn't reality.

Ok I am fine with breaches because, wait for it.

We won't have a single double wall from sea to polluted sea.

even in rural areas, the areas that would actually affect animals?

if so, this wall gets even more ineffective by the day

Actually species such as ocelots, jaguars, and armadillos are invasive from South America over the Panamanian land bridge.

Again I can only assume you think the only security we have is the wall and a few pickups.

They are not a migrating animal, they roam. I think we can live with out jaguars.

What's wrong with leaving 30 mile stretches open and just patrol them heavy. The animals then can roam back and forth.

The wall can't be 100% from sea to sea anyway.

natural range expansion or movements is not generally considered "invasive"

I'm sure there will be plenty of other ineffective security measures

The wall psychologically triggers anti-wall people because they don't believe the U.S.A. should have clearly defined physical borders.

No. They are not invasive. And they are a native species.
