If a wall is built and paid for up front by the U.S. gov, then Mexico will pay for it in the long run. It will frick them and they know it. They will have to start taking care of their poor instead of dumping them on us (and then relying on the money they send back).

I was hoping that the money we may net over new trade deals would pay for the increase in defense spending and the tax cut. Maybe even reduce the deficit a bit.
I didn't realize that we could just take money netted from new trade deals with a country, put it in a particular fund, and use it only for purposes related to that country.
