I tend to think if it gets to that point we’re in a nuclear war anyway

Talk him into a desk job. Unless trump, or someone just like him, somehow retakes control, your boy will be political fodder in the next few years. The MIC will not be sidelined for long.

ETA: Better yet, find a way to keep the kid out of the military. You’d be doing him a favor.

He didn't say China was no threat. And he is correct. The military threat from both Russia and China are WAY overblown in the US media.

The problem is not the military threat. I'm aware that currently, and perhaps for several decades into the future, they won't have the military power to defeat or invade the USA. The problem is that they are increasing their influence worldwide and no one is stopping them because the west is spineless and without leadership.

Every passing day China and Russia become more valuable to the economic of several countries, and create puppet states for their benefit.

I'm not saying they can rule the world right now, nor that they are going to start invading countries left and right.
I'm saying they are creating satellite states all over the world and eventually, they will be the leading power of the world. And when that happens americans are fricked.

As is there prerogative. What would you have us do about it?

Why, specifically?

That’s quite possible. All eventualities with situation of major conflict with Russia and/or China appear to be pretty dire.

This is some 1950’s foreign policy thinking if I’ve ever heard it

Well for one go back to Mccarthyism. And drop the dumb rhetoric of '' we're not the world's police''. Because it's not about being the world police, it's about defending the country's interests.

Because the USA, shall it ever loose it's place as the world's first power, it would still be a dangerous thing capable of counterattacking, so it's best to destroy it or cripple it so it can never recover.

And even if that wasn't the case, do you really want to be in the position where you have to pray that Russia and China decide to have mercy and not frick you ?

That ship has sailed. The papers are signed.

Good thing is most things change majorly in 30/60/90, so time is on his side with Brandon at the helm. Hopefully we’re all alive in the time your kid gets to the lines.

I'm sure that the Ex KGB communist agent who was part of purges and the supression of revolts and protests, and who murders all his political opponents, really cares about his people being mistreated
Well, let's see ....

quote:

“The advocates of so-called ‘social progress’ believe they are introducing humanity to some kind of a new and better consciousness. Godspeed, hoist the flags, as we say, go right ahead. The only thing that I want to say now is that their prescriptions are not new at all. It may come as a surprise to some people, but Russia has been there already. After the 1917 revolution, the Bolsheviks, relying on the dogmas of Marx and Engels, also said that they would change existing ways and customs, and not just political and economic ones, but the very notion of human morality and the foundations of a healthy society. The destruction of age-old values, religion, and relations between people, up to and including the total rejection of family (we had that, too), encouragement to inform on loved ones — all this was proclaimed progress and, by the way, was widely supported around the world back then and was quite fashionable, same as today. By the way, the Bolsheviks were absolutely intolerant of opinions other than theirs.

“This, I believe, should call to mind some of what we are witnessing now. Looking at what is happening in a number of Western countries, we are amazed to see the domestic practices — which we, fortunately, have left, I hope — in the distant past. The fight for equality and against discrimination has turned into aggressive dogmatism bordering on absurdity, when the works of the great authors of the past — such as Shakespeare — are no longer taught at schools or universities, because their ideas are believed to be backward. The classics are declared backward and ignorant of the importance of gender or race. In Hollywood, memos are distributed about proper storytelling and how many characters of what color or gender should be in a movie. This is even worse than the agitprop department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.”

The Baltic nations are already part of NATO so the question is really why does Russia seem to care so much about the Ukraine?

When Russia tried it in Cuba we put up a naval blockade. It worked. Sometimes you have to be ready to fight.

I don't think we should have any say in that either? I don't want Russia to invade the Ukraine and I'm generally anti-Putin but why do we get a say in any country's affairs? Withdraw all troops to the US border and I'm fully confident we can handle anything any other nation might want to throw our way.

I think this is partially right. I see it possibly as China/Russia being dead set against a world order controlled by people who see nations with monolithic populations as a threat to socioeconomic and environmental stability for all people. The idea of Transnational Progressivism (discussed in another thread) is sitting on their doorstep, and they want none of it.

I’m not saying this is right, but it’s a possibility.

IMO this is not really about weapons at the border or Ukraine joining the NATO alliance. That's what they want you to think. This is a globalists' take down of the West and to shift the power structure over to China/ Russia. They are all working together including the US. They have decided the US reign of power since WW2 is over and the empire needs to be destroyed in order for them to institute a China based new world order control enslavement system. Democracy or the perception of freedom needs to be neutralized and obliterated so they can swoop in and save the planet. They always create the problem and offer a solution.

You are the one concerned about your son in the fight. We were ready to fight Russia in Cuba and we should be prepared to fight him in Europe if necessary. He has no problem sending their young to battle. I guess we value our young more than he does. Now what case am I making?
