But it's very irresponsible for Palantir to be spying on our politicians (assuming the claims here are real, I'm not convinced of that)

I read it as the hackers discovered that Palantir has been blackmailing people for the CIA and are going to hand that over to Russia and China.
Why would the hackers give it to Israel when Israel likely is the one using it and already has it?

Long comment - summary - Palantir = Israel, and is the devil, and if this hack is legit, it's a big deal. People need to wake up and realize we are now living in a world that was previously only described in sci-fi movies.
About 15-20 yrs ago Palantir was super popular for providing software for intelligence use that was far better than what DoD already had (DCGS for example). At that time they were merely seen as super smart people that produced a superior product. Eventually they got their hooks in, got more money, contracts, access, and now Palantir is everywhere. All of this was set in motion, of course. None of it was random or took place through merit. Merit went away a long time ago.
Trump has been giving Palantir all sorts of access. There have been serious privacy concerns regarding Palantir for a long time. Palantir is the manifestation of movies like Minority Report, ie the end of freedom.
It's been estimated that someone's entire life can be captured in about 2GB of data. When you look at data storage capabilities and the size of hard drives, you would only need a space about the size of 15 10'x10' storage rooms to hold all of the data for all of the people on the earth. Another couple rooms and you have enough storage for video and all sorts of stuff for selected people around the world. Eric Schmidt (from Google) used to be Obama's most frequent visitor. Toshiba had a 15TB external hard drive in those days, about the size of a pack of cigarettes. There's no telling what Google had come up with on their own. Imagine what those two could hand off to each other on those visits. The NSA collects petabytes of data every day. When your children grow up, if they get famous or run for office, they'll be visited by someone that has all of their texts and chats and so forth. This is the future that awaits us and our kids.
Karp and Thiel are massive POS's.
There are many people out there that believe Palantir feeds all of its data and analysis (which includes things like our medical records) to Israel and that Palantir plays a big role in Israel's leverage over Trump. It's more than just a solid inference, given the available information.
If hackers got hold of this data, it could drive a wedge between Israel and Trump, lessen Israel's leverage, and provide leverage to Russia, China, Iran, BRICS, and so forth. There's no doubt that Palantir has super tight security. If they got hacked, this should send a clear message to everyone that there is nothing digital in this world that is safe. Also, if hackers got in, they may know where all of this data gets stored in Israel and I'm sure that it does get stored there among other places. That location data would be fed to Iran for missile strikes if there's another war between Israel and Iran. Almost 0% chance, but if that data storage got taken out, and the data was then in possession of Russia / China / Iran, that would upend everything going on in the world right now. 0% chance of that, though, IMO.
I hope people realize that nothing that emits an electronic signal, or uses electrons, chips, boards, etc is safe. Every single one of these objects (including your car) can be manipulated, turned on, off, etc, remotely. Our gov was doing wicked shite with this during the GWOT. Capabilities only increase over time.
Palantir should be bulldozed.

President Trump has enlisted the firm, founded by far-right billionaire Peter Thiel, to carry out his March executive order instructing government agencies to share data with each other. The order has increased fears that the government is putting together a database to wield surveillance powers over the American public....the firm just won a new $795 million contract with the DOD last week....
Palantir is speaking with various other agencies across the federal government, including the Social Security Administration and the IRS, about buying its technology, according to the Times. Palantir’s Foundry tool, which analyzes and organizes data, is already being used at the DHS, the Department of Health and Human Services, and at least two other agencies, allowing the White House to compile data from different places.
Thiel and Musk had some connections via DOGE and it's been reported that Elon sends all of the financial information that X gets straight to Israel.
Anyone that thinks Israel is an ally is in need of a serious recalibration, mentally. Also, Elon is basically a con man trojan horse. Palantir is an extension of Israel and it's the devil. Pure evil. Trump's subservience to Israel will be heavily scorned in the future. Best case scenario is that it's merely a privacy violation. It's probably going to be far worse.
Palantir getting hacked could turn out to be a great thing for humanity. If this is true, I'm very curious who pulled this off. Last note, Thiel, Epstein and CIA Director Bill Burns seem to have had meetings with each other.

I read something the other day that folks have learned they can use Claude to hack. Apparently now you can just tell an AI to do your hacking for you and it can crack people's sites in like 90 seconds. It's a brave new world.
