The United States is weighing precision strikes on “high-value” Iranian officials and commanders who it deems responsible for the deaths of protesters during the recent brutal crackdown, a Gulf official familiar with the discussions told Middle East Eye. Strikes against Iran could come as early as this week, but that timeline may shift, with discussions within the Trump Administration having been described as “chaotic,” as officials debate over what the repercussions will be in terms of retaliation from Iran.

Well, it looks like Israel is going to get us to knock off another of its enemies for them.

It's not just an Israel issue.
They've killed tens of thousands of their own people. That's the big issue
Doubt we put many boots on the ground other than special forces, to a man, probably want this fight.
We aren't fighting a war. It'll be up to the Iranians to take it back.

We, along with the British, overthrew their government, then installed Pahlavi to protect oil interests. Their Islamist government is largely our own doing. Now we're about to do it again. Most of the frickery in that region is fomented by the CIA and Mossad.

I don't disagree, but the PM was on his way out in 53 anyways. I think too much credit is given to western Intel agencies regarding iran. Blame the revolutionary leftists for being idiots in 79.
This round of protests was barely a blip on the radar because it was economic driven, initially.
Absolutely no doubt CIA and Mossad are on the ground being major players in the last while.
Thing is, the Iranians want it, Israel wants it, USA wants it. I don't think a bump in the right direction is out of the question. Like I said, it's the Iranians war to fight in the long run.
Iran crossed a line with the massacres.

It just seems to me that we "bump" a lot of countries to the benefit of Israel while we're always the ones absorbing the human and financial costs. Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and now Iran. Every country that doesn't want to play nice with Israel somehow needs some "freedom and democracy" at our expense.

Carter was a giantic puss along with Kissinger and the 3 letter agency allowed Iran to be ruined by the current regime
We are bringing back 70s Iran where Frank Sinatra once sang. Its so bizarre that anyone would.have an issue with that

I'd agree, and I dislike nation building as much as any of us who have seen it. All those mentioned were different issues with different people
Iran is unique in the fact it's not a 3rd world cave people country. It has thousands of years of history and an intelligent population that would be a top emerging market within 10 years if it were "liberated".
No need to nation build when they are in a 47 year mistake that needs to be corrected. Let them. Arm them
My biggest concern, however, is a power vacuum. But that's to be expected.

So we're pro globalism/Deep State now?
B/c 70s Iran under the Shah was a direct product of the CIA (the Deep State) overthrowing and maintaining a puppet state (globalism)
The revolution to reject this was an organic response to that Deep State/globalist puppet regime.
Now we want to use the CIA to create another globalist regime?

If it gets us Iranian chicks in bikinis then yes
You can keep crying about the deep state all you want.

That's specifically not my talking point.
I'm just getting this framed correctly for the hypocrisy, and, ultimately, re-defining of "globalism" and "Deep State"
