How?!
From the OP:
quote:
Ukraine pledges not to join NATO, the USA pledges not to use Ukraine as a proxy nation to conflict with Russia, the untrusting Russian government keeps part of Eastern Ukraine as a safety mechanism, and the war/bloodshed ends
Anyone not blinded by war propaganda knew this was where we were headed 3 months into this conflict.

The only reason it’s gone on as long as it has is it’s still a wildly successful money laundering scheme for our esteemed politicians. Once it stops becoming profitable for them is when it will finally end

I totally agree with your comment. It’s a transfer of wealth to more boomer politicians and their friends.

Damnit 4cubbies, you don't know anything about this conflict. I can't say the two Oliver Stone documentaries are the end-all answer to your questions, but they are a hell of a lot more informative than you'll get here.
Cliff notes: NATO was not supposed to expand into buffer countries. Guess what they did. Guess who they targeted in the Ukraine. Russian ethnics. Russia has been warning NATO for decades not to expand into buffer countries. NATO says frick that. 10 thousand and then some of Russian ethnics murdered after the color revolution orchestrated by Victoria Nulen.
Victoria Nulen. Look that stupid bitch's name up. She should be hung for war crimes. Now go and research before posting here again 4cubbies.

I’m really surprised that rational people believe Ukraine should roll over and let Russia rule it.
You have to remember that many people on this board are not rational. They are blinded by their hatred of this present administration and want to see Ukraine lose because it will hurt Biden in the polls. If the roles were reversed and it was Trump in the White House, this board would be singing a different tune about the conflict.
It's a sad fact but that's where we are in the present day of American political discourse.

I bet those 500,000 dead soldiers and 1000s of dead civilians wish they were alive under Russian rule. Thier blood is on the hands of the US deep state.

Victoria Nulen.
This war is personal for Victoria Nuland. Her grandfather was kicked out of Russia and her family has hated Russia ever since.

quote:Right. Your better argument is he was a card-carrying member of the communist party.
he joined the KGB when he was 35
The KGB was a wicked organization supporting authoritarianism. What mode the authority took was not particularly important. Authoritarian existence would justify the KGB's existence and pro-authoritarian goals regardless of political bent. E.g., Nazi and Communist governments were philosophically quite different. The KGB and Gestapo were not.
In addition to being a ruthless SOB, Putin is also a lawyer, and a PhD economist. He is bright, politically shrewd and surprisingly popular in Russia. The latter presupposes some degree of media suppression of his arguments and positions internationally. The Russians are not crazy people. There's reason Putin is maintains popularity there. E.g., He made a rather eloquent case regarding the NATO-to-Ukraine/Georgia threat during the last two decades. Yet, his are logical arguments of which a vast, vast number number of Americans are completely unaware. Why is that?
As noted he was a member of the Soviet Communist Party (a requirement to practice law there), though now Putin convincingly criticizes communism and Marxist or state-run economics. Meanwhile, he promotes traditional Russian values and nostalgia, the return of the orthodox church, respect of religion, and national pride, all while reliably quashing opposition speech.
At his core he's an amoral authoritarian willing to do whatever it takes to maintain and expand power. As you say, that makes him dangerous, but not Marxist.

Well, Ukraine had weapons and conscripts 21 months ago. Now, they don't.

Formerly Marxist? Or do you think he was never a true believer in communism?
ETA: that’s a sincere question.

Rational is not the problem, you puke. Having a frigging brain might be more appropriate. You are so worried about your stupid dimentia president and the hatred for Trump that you can't see all the people that were MURDERED in the name of the good ole USA.
And no, that was not the US or the Russians, that was mercenaries, NAZIs (namely the AZOV), and also some stupid bitch named Victoria Nulen (US State Dept). We've been been coup'ing nations since before you were born. So just stop. You don't know chit.

When you’re losing, it is either that or surrender. Ukraine is losing and that was always the inevitable outcome.

Russia is a natural ally and we should recognize this as a war of the NWO against the people of the west.
Posted on 11/4/23 at 6:47 am to 4cubbies
Russia isn’t going home, so what do you suggest Ukraine do?

And this right here is what I am talking about. You automatically assume that I'm a supporter of Joe Biden and the Democrats when in fact I plan on voting for Trump next November. I have never once voted for a Democratic candidate for any office whatsoever.

When a communist dictator invades another country just for the hell of it, I don’t think said communist dictator is interested in preserving any land for the sovereign nation. If that was an interest if the communist dictator, he wouldn’t have invaded in the first place.
It’s rare to see this much ignorance in a single post.

So the politicians and oligarchs have skimmed enough off the top now?
Doubt it; if peace is achieved, watch Biden shift gears and tell Americans it is now our moral imperative to send billions in aid to rebuild Ukraine.
We all know it’s coming.

Formerly Marxist? Or do you think he was never a true believer in communism?
Putin was/is an intellectual pragmatist with vast exposure to the successes of western economics. So I have my suspicions about his pre-1991 beliefs.
The Communist Party was his ticket to ride though. Regardless of personal belief, he was never going to show disloyalty to USSR communism, no matter the cost to others.
