It is my Great Honor to report that the United States of America now fully owns and controls 10% of INTEL, a Great American Company that has an even more incredible future.
If it's so "great" why does it need government support?

It’s critically important that our chip manufacturers drastically increase their technology and production in order to get as far as possible from dependence on Taiwan. We are not going to have a war with China over that island and they are eventually going to seize it. Intel has struggled for years even though they have significant capabilities. This might be a very good thing for national security.

Texas Instruments is another one that could improve.

So we just give grants away and never get anything in return

If our government has the money to simply give it away in "grants", then we are being taxed way too much.

I'm not against funding research in the private sector if it creates innovation or growth. But that should come in the form of low interest/zero interest loans. If it works out, then pay us back. If it doesn't, then it would be no different than a grant failing (still, we liquidate assets and recover what we can).

But of course, we all know what has happened to every western historical figure that has fought usury. The "J's" would call us antisemites for not letting them sin against us.

I believe AI, military defense, food supply, the power grid and infrastructure are all national security security issues and I’m ok if they take limited stakes in critical businesses to ensure optimized outcomes and no foreign entanglements.

And if we don’t have government oversight of AI and the defense industry how do you ensure China isn’t getting access?

Where do DARPA creations get built?

Who decides who gets those contracts?

It’s always been a public-private partnership since WW1 and it will remain so.

Right. Just like if we don't let the government take all the AR15s away, we will have school shootings and daily mass shootings.

Low IQ is cheering socialism while calling others "leftist".

Sounds like a structured bailout. Not unprecedented except for the above board nature of it I guess.

Imagine thinking this is about national security when a bunch of regulations were just rolled back by Trump for Nvidia and others to sell their chips to China.

It really is comical how brainwashed people like you are.
