I feel like we need to fire up the Mad TV "lowered expectations" jingle.
And if you haven't been burned by this before you might as well wait until the "revised" numbers come out at this point

That was a Biden and Obama specialty.
Trump's admin has not been known for lying about job numbers
During Trump's first term, the numbers were not revised down later like Dems do. If they were, it was modest and from a mistake. Not blatant bullshite
Even liberal ChatGPT had to admit it
quote:
2016–2020 specifically
During this period:
Revisions were routine and relatively small.
They were not consistently downward—some months revised up, others down.
There were no massive benchmark surprises comparable to what we’ve seen recently.
Even looking at longer history, economists generally find:
Average monthly revisions are modest.
Over time, revisions tend to balance out rather than show a big downward bias.
Bottom line:
Nothing unusual or structurally “inflated then cut down” about 2016–2019 job data.

But we were told it was an undebatable fact that Trump was terrible for the economy

If accurate, this is good news. I'm hoping 2026 will be a really good year for jobs even despite AI.

Good numbers for sure, but the elephant is in the room and it’s gonna stomp the piss out the job numbers.
AI.
Companies are already working to implement and layoff. Mine is one of them.
It’s coming.

Sorry, Powerbot. Good things happened to America, so we all know how disappointing that is for you.

Here’s this Daugherty clown again.
Yesterday he had “breaking news” about Hyundai investments that were pledged in 2022.
Now, the experts are in shambles!
Cherry picks the lowest estimate and ignores the median forecast. Then says nothing about revisions to prior months, labor force participation, wage growth, or unemployment rate.
That’s a healthy number & a decent report. Nothing spectacular. Probably will be revised down like every month this year. Certainly left out increased unemployment and cooling wages on purpose.
It would be awesome if this board could find a source other than red siren Twitter shill Florida man.

I follow him as he tends to be overall pretty accurate, but he is definitely a goober. And the "experts are in shambles" on every minor piece of news is stupid.

Rick is the best. He got out the box a few times and he was told to tone it down. Shame that happened.

... and Trump is still getting rid of gubment workers.
Good.

If deportations are as good as they have been saying, the job numbers are probably much better in actuality then the numbers reflect.

178,000 is a normalish number.
Good.
I don’t care that it beat expectations. A 59,000 jobs report wouldn’t have been anything to celebrate.

Trump is the worst president ever. I sure do miss woke, trannies, DEI, open borders, USAID, and autopens.
Why couldn’t Kamala have won?
