I didn’t say it was a win.
I said it was foreign aid.
Real aid for an emerging free capitalistic western Christian nation that will be a partner and ally.
I support the decision.
Apparently you don’t.

They bring zero to the table and live with their hand out. They really are not in a strategic spot in the world. However, currently they are feeding our primary strategic competitor which hoses our farmers and puts as guarantors of their debt. Scooping up monopoly money for dollars so the Estancios can keep their grip on power

Whom are we helping? The farmers who Trump shafted with tariffs, the American taxpayer who basically became the guarantors of Argentine debt and now sugardaddy to its farmers?

I get that Argentina is happy. They have a 20 billion IMF infusion in April, a US backed bailout in October and a Chinese bailout/ purchase of their products.

US taxpayer on the hook for atleast 50 billion with the farm bailout and possibly 40 billion on the economic bailout to Argentina because we essentially just guaranteed their IMF loan that they will no doubt try to default on after the Argentine mid terms

Argentina is a good source of rare earth metals, if I'm not mistaken.

Good !
Monroe Doctrine policy.
Help a fellow capitalist get on his feet while stopping the advance of communist China.
You young post boomers are so short sighted and blissfully ignorant of the real world and history.

Many of us "young post boomers" get it. We also "get" how boomers destroyed the concept of The Monroe Doctrine, so if it gets lost to history it's because Boomers fumbled the lesson plan and implementation. Thanks!
