Blackwater will bring it . This isn't hard to comprehend. Prince is a business man. So long as there is the level of demand on this side of the border, there will be cocaine and other drugs available to meet it.

You know, our guys did such a great job in Afghanistan with the poppy/heroin production. Our interdiction efforts led to an increase in heroin production and export. If anything it led to an explosion of demand because the price became more affordable.

You guys have no idea about the sociopaths that abound in Special Forces.

I know a little bit about the people in the SOF world. Where does your knowledge come from?

Are we talking full resources here? Define the ROE and equipment we are allowed to use. I would imagine Trump would want to end this quickly by sending a message of overwhelming force like he did in Syria during his first term. These dudes are used to street level violence, but would not understand the levels this could be brought too. I am sure he is telling the Mexican Government to get thier Cartels in line or he will. You really wouldn't want to conduct military operations south of the border ,but if they continue to push I am sure it would happen. If the gloves are off the Cartels get slaughtered.

We just spent 20 years, trillions, and tens of thousands of dead US soldiers learning this lesson, and we already want to do it again?

Cartels do not operate like insurgent groups. They have a different mission and a different composition. This is not counter-insurgency. It's area defense and area denial.

You fight the cartels...like the cartels.

Overwhelming, brutal force in horrific detail with specially trained small fast moving troops. Put their heads on pikes outside their mansions and also in city streets to let the masses know you are working.

Eliminate their entire families and burn their homes to the ground.

Unfortunately, I don't believe we have the stomach for that. It would be successful.

Sorry. I doubt it. Not that our military CAN'T. It's that they WON'T.

The cartels aren't going to stand and fight. They're going to melt into the populace and thereby negating the US armed forces biggest advantages: intelligence, precision targeting and overwhelming firepower. The first time a little brown baby so much as gets a bruise every white woman in America will freak out.

The ROE in Mexico for our forces will make Vietnam look like a John Wick movie.

Whatever military action is taken by the US won't be the way you described. It will be using military intelligence gathering and use drones, surgical strike teams, cyber attacks, legal actions freezing bank accounts, etc.

I'll give them the benefit of being a litte better than when we were fighting the Taliban driving Nissan minitrucks with shitty machine guns mounted in the bed. Or a Toyota SR5 filled with a bunch of Somalians holding AK'S. But not much better.

We have tech that's 10000% better than the absolute best thing they have. We have intelligence as well, and probably know in real time where 99% of their hierarchy is located.

We could probably completely decapitate everything about them in minutes if we wanted to.

so are we going to do it or just fricking talk about it?

let's mow these frickers down

ETA: I'm normally anti war, but these murderous cartels are flipping us the bird, not just at the border, but on our soil.

Get this shite done.

Cocaine supply will not diminish. Just a new supplier on the scene.

Then we take out that one! I doubt there exists any one and done total solution. Sitting back and doing nothing or throwing up your hands and saying there's no use to do anything because it will fail is pathetic.
There are different ways to attack the cartels in addition to kinetic attacks.

Offer up a better retort instead of falling back on a vacuous comeback . Where am I wrong?
