If tweet fails to load, click here. NEW: Venezuela’s acting president just thanked Donald Trump — the same president whose administration removed Nicolás Maduro two months ago — and offered cooperation on energy, mining, and critical minerals.
Delcy Rodríguez said it standing next to U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum during a joint press conference in Caracas.
Two months ago: Maduro captured.
Today: the interim government thanking the architect of that removal and opening the door to U.S. access on gold, rare earths, and oil.
While the world focuses on Iranian missiles and U.S. airstrikes, the Trump administration is quietly rewriting resource maps across the Global South.
Venezuela holds the largest proven oil reserves on Earth and vast deposits of gold, coltan, and other critical minerals.
For years it was one of China’s key footholds in the Western Hemisphere.
Now Caracas is shipping gold to U.S. refineries and signaling openness to U.S. energy and mining investment essential for modern technology.
I've never seen anything like it.
Two months ago Venezuela was one of Washington’s most hostile governments.
Today its interim leadership is praising President Trump and working directly with the United States.
Who knows if it lasts.
But if this alignment holds, it may go down as one of the most consequential geopolitical flips in the world in decades.
There will be posts like this in a few months about Iran.

I’m thinking the new pres watches cnn, and sees what we do to govt leaders who are hostile.
As long as we have Trump or a non-pussy politician leading, they’ll do as we say.

All the fake conservatives who show up on this board and whine about Trump not doing anything for America, but they don't say a word about how we're opening new avenues to all the things our country relies on. "It's got nothing to do with us"
Yeah... sure.
Yeah... sure.

DOJ denies it, but an MSM outlet (Reuters) and independent media outlet (the Grayzone) say DOJ is holding an indictment over her head. Good post by LegendInMyMind about all of this:
quote:
This is an interesting one.
We snatched the head man because he refused to honor the results of an election that we backed and said was legitimate. We then installed his underling do-girl, ignoring the rightful and duly elected winner of the recent election, leaving the rest of the illegitimate government in tact. We then used whatever leverage we have, assuming the threat of the same result as the former head man or even death, to force negotiations for the country's resources. All this done with a government that, per our own reasoning, is still 99.9% illegitimate.
I'm not saying I don't support it. It is just......interesting.

We like to brutally murder leaders who don't bend the knee to American excellence these days. Seems like she gets it.

We are in a transition period. Gradually the Venezuelan government will gain legitimacy. As they do, they will gain autonomy. The US will gradually cede control over Venezuela, except there will be some “red lines” that we insist upon, vis-à-vis China for example.
The US will not transition to an imperial power in violation of our entire philosophical heritage.

I asked who we've murdered. Those guys were killed, not murdered.

Why can't we have a good three day war. These damn 7 to 10 day marathons are just putting the country at unnecessary risk? We definitely should be good Christians and turn the other cheek. Let Iran first drop some nuclear tipped ICBM's on the East Coast then we would have a righteous cause to got to war and attack them. We need to have significant loss of life and damage before we can justify US involvement. This is the "Crazy Democrats " policy right out of their playbook. Just amazing that so many "crazies" in this country believe that to be true. Thank God Biden or Kamala are not in charge. The big danger now is domestic with all those illegal aliens who crossed the border unvetted and are hiding in plain site awaiting opportunity to wreak havoc. How could we be so stupid to let this happen? Or even worse allow them to stay in the country when ICE could root them out and deoport them.

Semantics would be like saying someone is a bad guy instead of calling them a criminal.
"Murder" suggests that we've wrongfully, illegally killed those leaders. There's a reason I took exception to your terminology. Perhaps you only meant it as "killed", but I don't know you, or your intent. That's why words matter, if you want to be understood.

Get past it. I didn't mean what your strawman demands I meant. Grow the frick up and hear the signal.

Get past it? I'm responding to your comment.

Do you know what strawman means? It doesn't matter what you meant, the term "murder" has a specific meaning. All I just did is explain to you why I took exception to what you said. You could just accept that you used misleading language, and understand why I took it the way I did, but instead you're still hung up on telling me that's not what you meant. Yeah, I get that already.

There is no signal, and I don't think you know what you mean by that anymore than I do. You can't handle the slightest bit of criticism without blowing your lid, and you want to tell me to grow up?

Well I guess you're baked in. Pity.

I'm sure she was told to get in line or be arrested. Women fold too easily(Poor Leaders) but it works in our favor this time to ease into a partnership instead of a takeover. Cuba is next and have already started negotiating. Lol

Who's ignoring the point? Your point has been acknowledged. You're too self absorbed to accept being called out for poor use of the English language.
This is the internet. You say Murder, we see murder. We don't read minds. You sounded like a liberal whining about us killing people for no reason, which would be, you know... murder.
We all get what you meant now. Thanks for playing.
