WTF???? "Starts" a war??? You have a strange definition of the word starts!

Trump isn't starting anything. The terrorist started it by bombing our cargo ships and Navy ships.
Trump is defending American interests and our military.

How does war with Iran help America or a single American citizen? Now do Israel. Y’all turned into MIGA overnight, and probably complained about the Ukraine war for last three years. For whatever reason, Israel has a way of fooling conservatives over and over again.

So let’s take Trump’s history of conflicts into account and see how he might actually respond instead of fear mongering. A couple of options on the table from his past conflicts although none of which were wars.

Option 1. Attack Houthi’s and Hamas leadership via precise air strikes (or just let Israeli finish off Hamas themselves with some of our backing). Sanction the hell out Iran (he’s done it in first term successfully)

Option 2. Attack Iran leadership with precision air strikes, think generals not true leader as it could cause chaos there. This is a riskier move as Iran could counter attack but they’ve been soft before when this was done.

I don’t think Trump plans on sending troops to fight a war there. If he does take direct action his past history suggests air strikes in lieu of boots on ground.

Now of course he’s only targeted past terrorist leaders but Iran plays a proxy war using Hamas and the Houthi’s to attack their enemies so in essence they are a terrorist state themselves.

Vast majority of Iranin American diaspora (think 99%) wants war and regime change in Iran. Lebanon wants to get rid of Hezbollah influence. Israel wants to eliminate the threat. Win win win situation. I don’t see a single reason why we shouldn’t overthrow Iran.

It is not betrayal. Could this possibly bring to light other foreign economic ties. Would any issues that arose with Iran not concern complicated economic trade relations with Russia as well? In a sense, reveal more of their cards? People claim Trump is a Russian asset, which does not appear to be a factual reality.

Despite what Tucker Carlson and many of the libertarian and populist right tell you, burying our head in the sand isn't effective, or realistic, foreign policy.

This. Like we should have done for 9/11. We level the enemy (as in glass parking lot for their military assets) and then immediately come back home. Let them figure out what they did wrong and how to avoid getting devastated again. Let the euros bitch about it all they want and ignore them.

Let's use our military the right way and not as a police department or construction crew.

A war with Iran will hide all the waste and fraud doge discovered? A war will go pick up all the deported people and bring them back? A war will put kamala in the white house?

Don't be so dramatic, Nancy.

We are not going to war with Iran. We may surgically bomb them to stop their nuclear program, but a boots on the ground, invasion of Iraq is not going to happen.

Listen to what Trump says and stop jumping to absurd conclusions. If you don't understand it, then just hold your judgement until it all works itself out before you start whining about "What if's". Hold your water til all the facts are in. Not speculation.

Was this thread started because of the Iranian ship Zagros being rumored to have been sunk last night? All signs point to that being fake news, so....

The geopolitical climate of 2025 is slightly different than that of 2017.

Further, he ordered the assassination of Solemaini which easily could've been interpreted as an act of war by Iran.

But you know what else happened? Putin didn't try to take lands.

Absolutely.

This isolationist fad among the rightist populists (which I blame entirely on Huckster Carlson) is the dumbest, most obviously wrong strategy that I have ever seen significant numbers of people swallow.

I don't think Huckster is dumb. I think he's very smart, in fact. I think he realized that the left had been dominated by populists for decades and they were splitting their audience between all MSM outlets. i think he saw the way the wind was blowing with the right and realized he could make beaucoup bank by pandering to the growing number of populists on the right, so he started dishing up the steady diet of conspiracy theory nonsense that populism demands.

I think he's flexing just to prove that he can make these populists believe anything, but regardless of why, he's single handedly converted people who claim they are "conservative" into Jimmy Carter-style Democrats with respect to foreign policy, and it's obvious folly.

The more other countries know you are not willing to kick arse, the more often you will end up having to send troops to kick arse. Because they will take exactly what you will give them. So don't give them an inch.

That's basic playground bully psychology. It's not complicated.

But if you convince a populist that any military action is a scheme devised by Christ Killing Jew Globalist Elitist Deep State Swamp Monsters, then they'll oppose it, like good little parrots.

Huckster is good at what he does, for sure.
