Maybe Canada is more to your liking?

The Admiral of Southern Command announcing his retirement, set for December, 2 years ahead of planned, will make this interesting. Hopefully Hegseth is able to find a pro-American who understands what it takes and why.

Then what - we don't seem to do regime change very well...

So let’s look at common usage. This year my poor LSU team often neglects the running game. So if some beleaguered LSU fan says, “We have to run the ball more” does that mean one of the three things you said, that it is a divine mandate, an obligation or a duty? Clearly not. There is something unsaid at the end of that sentence: “…if we are going to be more successful.” It is in our interests to run the ball more.
My sentence was, “We intervene too much, but we have to intervene some.” You forced an interpretation of that as “we have some external obligation”. That’s one possibility, but when you accused me of that I pointed out the unsaid conclusion of the sentence: for our own self interest. I pointed that out three times in three responses to you, this being the fourth.
What you are doing is very common; you are trying to force any with whom you disagree into positions that are caricatures of their actual views. You know very well what my actual view is; you knew it after my first clarification post. We have to intervene some if we want to protect our selfish self interests. But instead of addressing that more difficult and nuanced position, you tried to herd me into an absurd position - we are mandated by God or nature to intervene. This view is easy to defeat.
