The NFL was long dead with me.
When Drew Brees put that name on his helmet, I knew the NFL would never be resurrected with me.
It is gone forever.

Great I am good there but the NFL lives off of advertising money so any time you purchase something there you are helping them out indirectly and everybody big buys their advertising.
That is impossible to avoid or if not impossible too much work to keep track of.

A lot of people spend way too much time caring about the nfl and boycotting when clearly the nfl doesn’t care about you

I've gone to a few retailers/manufacturers sites who do advertise during NFL games... explained due to the current political nature of the NFL and the fact that this company supports them monetarily I would no longer purchase from them and would spend more time researching alternatives to their products/services...

1, 2, 3, 4, 11, 13, 14, 15, 20 were all was doing before.
Not actively turning the channel or leaving the room if a game is on is the only thing supporting the NFL I can do. I own a Tampa Bay hat from 1997 that I plan to keep. The rest started declining a couple years ago I stopped going to games about 5 years ago, stopped buying swag 4 years ago. I stopped going out of my way to watch games 2 years ago.

The real question: How many of the above activities have you cut out?

I don't participate in any of that shite.
I put my money where my mouth is. I go out of my way to buy American products. I am boycotting all kinds of shite right now.
I just sent Danner an email telling them that I won't be buying there Made in America boots anymore because I don't want a penny of money indirectly helping the shithole of Portland, Oregon.

Put me as as “no” for all 21 of those.

I won’t watch on TV or attend games. I’m not gambling or in a fantasy league now, and a consequence of not paying attention to the NFL will be that I won’t be able to competently gamble or participate in a league.
I did check espn.com once yesterday to see how Burrow did.

1 through 21 - complete.
I'm 100% boycotting providing watching my grand kids in the swimming pool is added to that list.
They are more fun and not BLM supporters so I should be good.
The 28 OP downvoters (as I write this) can support Marxism. I did my part of military duty to defend their right to do so.
I exercise my right to say frick them.

LET IT GO my friends... it is not that hard. These players and NFL staff HATE YOU!!
I used to consume a lot of football.
About 4 years ago I started to watch less and after careful consideration realized I was aggravated by Kaepernick -- mainly due to feigning virtue as a pretense to being benched. He's a fraud; including his entire getup. The fact that millionaires were running with an unpopular position, and in some cases, these talking heads lecturing the fan-base on virtue -- was and is unacceptable.
I believe a lot of fans have reduced their football consumption to just their team and not much more -- and in some cases, not even that.

I checked the TigerDroppings game thread for Saints-Bucs updates.

quote:You sure went to a lot of trouble listing what everyone knows. I watched very little of anything pro sports prior to this. Last year I might have caught a minute or two of the Saints if I happened to be home. Kind of got interested in the Cowboys when Dak took over for Romo. Again, though, only if I happened to be home when they were on. So, I didn't spend two cents on them then and will spend less than that now.

the big point here is that people are consuming less football -- even if all they are doing is watching their team on TV once a week
This...I think most people can probably say they used to do many of those....I also think most people can say they have cut out at least one.
