We had a group of 10 planning to come for Halloween, but we all canceled our hotel and restaurant reservations, concert tickets, ect because of the stupid mandates.

Crack down on crime sorta like Giuliani did as Mayor of NYC. Most especially gun crimes, including stiff mandatory minimum sentences for illegally carrying a gun. Of course the office of the prosecutor and police department must be fully on board and on the same page. Cleaning up its notorious crime would go a long, long way.

NOPD is way understaffed to do anything like this.
It would be a cruel joke if our potential WW3 enemies with nukes wouldn’t target a few select cities in their missile salvos. New Orleans and Detroit, for example. Leave them standing and watch the results when those are the folks who take charge.

This is why it's important for everyone in a culture to be principled people. Even the guys picking up trash or the people working in service industry jobs need to have a functioning conscience. It's easier to build a good city if even your "bad" people aren't all that bad relatively speaking.
