Trump did a terrible job handling this virus. I mean how in the world do you make a virus political?

yet they won't turn in those people for not coming back to work, so that they will lose unemployment.. something doesn't add up there.

in the meantime republicans will likely lose many of the middle class folks on unemployment and no jobs or prospects in the next election.

Ask the MSM and Dems when they accused Trump of being racist when he shut down travel from China in January.

Giving out stimulus checks does not help lower unemployment. You didn't think that through did you?

Stop the stimulus checks and fully open up the economy. Until that happens with the economy, wtf is the proposed planned? For the record, I lost my job in April and work 7 days a week in a call center and deliver pizzas on the days I’m off. Still actively seeking a sales role that isn’t at a car dealership or some sort of pyramid scheme. The worst part about it is it takes 7 days to make would I could in 5 previously. It is what is though and I’m just going to keep pushing forward.

The #1 thing to do to create jobs is to make sure that as many democrats as possible lose their elections come November, especially Joe Biden!!!

Cut all federal funding to dem cities/states until they ease their stupid, draconian lockdown policies.

Alternatively, announce all government employees will have their salary withheld because the country needs the funding for additional stimulus money. Do that and lockdowns would be lifted tomorrow.

If the unemployment rate as a result of the pandemic is the deciding factor, then there isn't much he can do to sway that voter back until the economy is back to normal.
quote:

stimulus checks
Depending on how it's done will either have no affect (1 time payment), or will cause unemployment numbers to go back up (increase unemployment #s so people can collect a check rather than work for their money)
quote:

federal incentive for companies to hire.
Would actually cause him to lose votes because it would give the appearance that he is trying to give money to "his friends"

HE "made it political"?

Biden released his "plan" for it - Trump has already done everything he listed.

He has to come up with a plan, whether it be stimulus checks or some type of federal incentive for companies to hire.

No. He doesn’t.

Open the economy and it’ll solve itself. Stop this insane shutdown. And stop overfunding unemployment and the social welfare safety net.

Government funded welfare benefits are meant to be a temporary measure for hard times and a help for the poorest among us. Government welfare is not supposed to be the main source of income and livelihood for an entire class of people.

The solution to the catastrophic failure of government influence and involvement in the economy is not increased government influence and involvement in the economy.

We already have unemployment benefits.

We absolutely do not need to plunge the country further into debt and another step in the direction of communism.

This constant thought process of the left in every situation that always falls back to “what will the government do to solve these problems” is legitimately terrifying and horrifying in the truest sense of both of those words.

Why does the government have to solve these problems, Volod?

Why can’t your community solve these problems?

Why is every problem someone else’s fault and every solution someone else’s responsibility?

quote:

ome type of federal incentive for companies to hire.

Is it really your assertion that there is an unemployment problem because companies aren’t willing to hire people? Explain to me how you think this incentive will work?

In many states there is a current exemption. All the individual has to do is claim 1 of a number of reasons why they won't return (I'm scared of the virus is a legit one), and their benefits can't be cut.

Well...80% of the people currently on unemployment make more than they were when they had a job.

Well... I’m in the 20% then. Still down $1500 from what I was earning even with the stimulus, but it’s better than $247. They’ve had two months to try and fix the thing where people are getting way more than they earned. Hopefully, all states are doing what LA is doing and employers are cooperating and filling out this form:
