1. Venezuelans haven't really experience war in a very long time. Their own weapons are old. The Russian and Chinese systems were not nearly their latest, all based on old radar technology by US standards
2. Anything even 1990's vintage would be like Star Wars to Venezuelan military.
3. The post cited by many was from an anonymous source claiming to be Venezuelan member of their military. These claims seem to be no different than Russian news pundits claiming that Ukraine had super soldiers created in biolabs with US military drugs as the reason Russia didn't take Kyiv in a few days. That is how the whole biolab claims began.
Trump is going to play this up to the Nth degree because political leaders are not as bright as everyone thinks they are.
