Was hungover on an lsu bus, and somewhere on Alvin dark was a “Ron Paul” sign on the back of a stop sign or street sign.
Went home, googled him, and realized I’d been lied to constantly.
I began writing letters to the newspaper, attending city council meetings, and volunteering.
Led me to work at a think tank in DC and run, a decade or so later, for public office.

Unfortunately, most people are still not ready to receive the message, which is summarized below:
Neither party, nor the government, give a frick about you. They want to take all power and all money. It’s what they’re there to do. It’s their sole focus.

Seems like the left has hated America as long as I can remember, which would have been around the time of the fall of Saigon. The protests were pretty much over, but you still had the occasional irreverent hippie flag burner popping up.

The Saturday after Clinton was elected

A CNN chat show. Margaret Carlson started talking about how Bill and Hillary Clinton will be making new policies

Bob Novak was like, "What? Did I miss something? Was Hillary Clinton elected to anything??"

I've probably answered this question 3-4 time on this forum in the past 8 years but here's mine.

The fallout out of the Weapons of Mass Destruction hype the led up to the Iraq War. Once the truth came out that the Weapons Of Mass Destruction was nothing more than a propaganda scare tactic to get public support for the invasion of Iraq I began to really question the federal government.

The next event that strengthened that belief was the Financial Meltdown of 2008/2009 and how the American people were put on the hook for what turned out to be trillions in bailouts for Big Banking and "too big to fail" corporations.

If that ^^^ didn't red pill your arse then all the BS that's occurred over the past 9 years should have. If you're still buying the status quo with the legacy media and DC Uniparty......you're unreachable.

I’m a lifelong resident of California and I’ll turn 49 this year. The state that I grew up in has little resemblance to what it is now. Don’t ever let the progressives take control of your state.

My Dad, who was the head of the Fresno County Republican Central Committee, also introduced me to Limbaugh when I was 14 or 15 that certainly played a part in my views. Going back to my Dad he knew how it was very country club and didn’t represent the views of the overwhelming majority of voters out here and that was what got him involved and ultimately elected along with 8 of his friends. He changed the county to Red from Blue in the mid 90s. He also got me approved to work on the voter rolls out here and once you see just how screwed up those things are there isn’t any point in playing make believe that the rolls are accurate and that fraud doesn’t happen. It happens… a lot.

so most peoples "wakeup" moment was something that in no way affected them personally, just stuff they saw on tv.

For me, it was back when Trump was running the first time. On another message board I'm no longer on, I gave some praise to Trump and was immediately called a racist. I was like "uh, how am I racist when I'm married to a black woman?" That only made the attacks worse. I knew then these people are fricking crazy.

Ohhhhhhh , this was a taxation without representation question?

Late 90s til present.

Or maybe a DEI question?

Most of the 2000s to present in my workplace.

Or maybe a cost of living question?

Last 20 years. Better on paper every year with less and less buying power.

Or maybe a government control question?

2020 when my career was overtly threatened if I didn’t conform and bend the knee.

Got out military in 1990. Told my dad we are not the "good" guys. A lot of shady shite we did then and have seen up to today.

George Carlin in the late 70’s and early 80’s when I was in college. I was always super conservative but his routines and musings made me realize that team conservative had members on the take as well.

There have been a lot of them over the years. Kind of like committing the same mistake over and over or a sin you know is wrong. You know it’s wrong but you keep doing it until God Thumps you really hard and finally gets your attention. Probably started with the Vietnam War since I was old enough to pay attention.

Obama being elected.
“Hands up Don’t Shoot”
Personally when JP Morgan Bank canceled me. I knew for sure then it was real and it was organized. There are a lot of communists out there running things and they have been winning incrementally.

Trump is our last hope and unless people realize this we are done.

I can't actually remember the exact moment, but, it was probably the mid/late 2000s when it became clear nothing about the Bush Wars made any sense.

Very early 70's when I was a kid. Every nightly 'news' network led every story about the 'government today,' that's when I realized this government is a bad guy. Fast forward 50+ years and here we are. Not to mention the short gray haired, wire rimmed glassed, teachers in the 'arts' in elementary school. Their aim wasn't teaching (art/music) but pushing feels good self esteem bullshite. I sensed it at a young age and knew they were weak, devious individuals, that had ulterior motives...... Fast forward a few years and all of the principals in the schools were replaced with band directors and women. Here we are, ain't it great ?
