Maybe it’s Vance, maybe it’s Maybelline.

This is leftist "intellectual" analysis.

MAGA is Trump basically.
When Trump goes, MAGA goes. We'll almost certainly get something that replaces it though and we may not even notice a difference.
If an ideology replaces MAGA but there is no discernable difference, then how is that not MAGA? MAGA is the policies, not just an acronym. MAGA by any other name is still MAGA.
I see mostly wishcasting for the death of MAGA. Any republican that does not have Trump's endorsement in 2028 will lose. MAGA will not go back to voting for GOPe stooges like Cruz. They will not vote for useful idiots for the globalists like Massie.
MAGA is the only way Republicans will win in 2028. Right now, it's looking doubtful because so many conservatives are soft as baby shite and suffer from recency bias. They forgot that the non-MAGA Republicans gave us forever wars and a desire to bend over and spread it for democrats.
They can't remember that the Republican party was dying before Trump, so they are eager to get rid of the one person who made them relevant and brought the concerns of the American people to the forefront.
Not one republican has tried to get better trade deals like Trump. Not one has tried to secure peace deals across the globe. But conservatives are in a hurry to return to the corrupt politicians of the past because Trump doesn't do everything they want.
Since Trump isn't flawless, the obvious solution to conservatives is to support politicians that do even less of what you want and continue to use the same strategies that contributed to the problem to begin with. Conservatives aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, but their stubbornness makes up for it.

Can someone even define MAGA at this point?
MAGA is what it has always been. It's putting the American citizen over illegals, foreign countries, politicians, and corporations.
It's not hard to figure out. You'll likely try to come up with a position Trump has taken so you can say, "How is this MAGA?" The obvious answer that people should stumble upon themselves is that not everything Trump does is MAGA. Trump and MAGA are two separate entities.
However, Trump is the most MAGA president we've ever had, so to throw him away because you don't agree with everything would be retarded.
Here's an example you might be able to understand a little better. MTG's supporters boast that her 100% liberty score makes her the most conservative politician in congress. MTG also supports illegal immigration and Obamacare subsidies. Those are undoubtedly not conservative. Yet, all her supporters here still run around saying she is America First.
So, why do people who say Trump is not MAGA because of a few policies all say that MTG is America First despite a few policies? It's this double standard that has been a staple of TDS since its inception.

Vance will shock everyone by not running. Rubio will be a two term President, and Trump will get behind him to help ensure we stay united. Tucker etc will provide some token opposition but nothing too hard in the paint.
VP is a great spot but also a tough spot. Rubio's getting all the plum assignments that are in his wheelhouse and is knocking it out of the park. JD is great, but he needs more assignments that align with his strengths if the plan is to get behind him as the nom.

MAGA will be past tense. This will be especially so if the dems win. It will then be time for a new republican platform. And it will take young people to execute that.

JD Vance has one enormous problem....Peter Thiel. That is one WEIRD mofo and JD is the guy he put his money and power behind to get him the VP nod. Good luck with that.
Aren't we expecting at least half a dozen republican candidates for 2028? Let 'em fight it out and the cream rises to the top. I'm not going to vote for Vance unless he runs for the office and convinces me he is the best candidate.

JD is the best choice.....

So we can’t stop the neocons… yes Reagan was right. Government is the problem.

I think people are underestimating the MAGA ideology. it’s more than a cult of personality - Trump turned the GOP upside down with a focus on immigration, trade, capital investments, and actually being tough. It’s a specific type of conservatism that I think can stand on its own merits.
As far as who takes it over, it’s hard to say. I’m not convinced that JD is a shoe-in. Don’t sleep on DeSantis. Even though they butted heads in the primary, DeSantis is very aligned with Trump politically. If he develops his personality more, he’s a serious candidate.

It’s JD and then a wide gap imo. He’s got to get ahead of the H1B and foreign aid MAGA position though or that gap will close quickly.

Id agree with a battle between Rubio and Vance.
Rubio a bit too neocon for me but a pretty good statesman.
Vance is more like me in upbringing. Shares similar values and is Catholic. That's pretty tough to overcome. Also he sounds reasonable

There is nothing "Far right" about Tucker or Fuentes. Hate to break it to you, but they are within the Overton Window. America First means making decisions not based on what is good for Israel or Muslims or Indians. How very unamerican of you.

I don’t think Trump will endorse (anoint) him which will take the air out of his lead.
While I think Trump likes Vance, I have a feeling he doesn’t have enough experience in Trump’s eyes to hand him the keys to the country. Plus, I believe Trump wants the eventual nominee to earn it. He had to go out and earn it, so he expects the same for the next guy.

I doubt he gives an endorsement until well into the process. Desantis, Rubio, Vance, Cruz (allegedly) all seem to be running or at least seriously considering it.
Of those four, Little Marco and Vance are probably the only two that stand a chance of an endorsement. Three years is a long time, though. A lot can change.
