Social science is not science as properly understood

Why Are White Men Stockpiling Guns?
I do know a guy who is convinced the end of the world is coming, and he wants to be ready.
I don't know who they sampled, but I would wager that I know more white gun owners.

According to a growing number of scientific studies, the kind of man who stockpiles weapons or applies for a concealed-carry license meets a very specific profile.
What is considered stockpiling?
I can think of several specific profiles that own multiple guns that most likely were not included on this data inclusion.

100% - this is actually an excellent example of the cross section the OP speaks to. Look at the responses, I think it’s an excellent indication.
Then your line of thinking is all fricked up.

that’s a short sighted point and so is the OP. Straight white men have always and will always be the primary market for firearms and regardless of what you think that has very little to do with “being afraid of the world we live in”

Such as what?
That is kind of up to you though.

I’m to be held to a standard above the mouth breathers that abundantly populate this board?
Again, that is up to you though.
The benefit of anonymity is that how you are viewed on here is irrelevant.
Personal attacks and opinions don’t matter, and if you take them as personal, it is an aspect of this website’s impact that should be re-evaluated.

When you provoke people, and they respond, you’ve only proven they were provoked.

I don’t get off on it or accept it as fact. It’s probably a BS study. I just love trolling you people
Thanks for at least admitting it.

Y’all post enough of your own BS on here you should be able to handle a little back the other way

I legit want to better evaluate the gun issue in this country and you clowns think I’ve become some idiot who flings shite at the walls. What in the hell happened to actually being able to reevaluate positions?
I actually do still like this board, and there are some of you that are still fun to have a decent conversation with.

Go check out the video of the PC debate in the last thread I started. Michael Eric Dyson basically does this for an hour rather than actually debate the actual topic.

Uh, why do you think the Russian ads during the election were so effective? They targeted people based on their language and post history.
I will agree that, to a certain extent, your stance has merit, but it is a much smaller grouping, IMO.
Taking offense to being called a racist and becoming angry in response wouldn’t be a sufficient reasoning to believe that that individual is racist.
Neither would taking offense to the commentary offered in the OP.
What percentage of those who respond negatively to being painted, well, negatively do you believe are truly as presented by the paper?

What is the gun crime rate of the "White Men Stockpiling Guns"? I'm curious as to how t statistically significant that is
I own two shotguns: one gauge for dove and one for quail. I own two rifles, for different game. I own two handguns: one for the house and one for the truck.
This study is about the guys who own two gun-safes full of weapons. That sort of obsessive-compulsive hoarding is interesting and worthy of study.

This legitimately is nothing like the ridiculous example you just gave.

Both contend that a negative character aspect resulting in a subsequent negative reaction is enough evidence to make a judgement call on the individual’s character as a whole.

Guns have never been harder to get than now. I also think it’s silly to blame “guns” for teen shootings when we have an entire genre of “first person shooter” games.
Kids are getting the idea that shooting up a venue is a good idea. But that idea has come a long after guns were invented.
If you don't think that first person shooters are a factor you sure picked the most fricked up way possible to voice that opinion.

Perhaps you can elaborate on your previous comments about first person shooter video games? You thought it pertinent to bring them up in the other thread. Please tell us why.
