the exact same principal applies to both situations, the supremacy clause. by the way arkansas, mississippi, and any southern state that fought integration made the same argument that these blue states are making.

You guys make great points. I guess at the end of the day you have to enforce laws. I just wish these people were forced to live with the consequences of their actions a little more. I also wish red folks in these blue areas would make some noise every now and then.

they don't apply here, and if they didn't matter in the segregation fight they sure as he11 don't apply here the court ruled multiple times during the obumbles administration that immigration law was the sole purview of the federal government overturning immigration laws in arizona and texas.

Because if ICE swarmed atlanta or charlotte or detroit or Milwaukee or phoenix like they are Minneapolis all those states would vote blue in 2026 and 2028.
There is a reason this is happened in deep blue places like Illinois or Minnesota and ruby red places like Louisiana.

Because the “blue areas” are part of the same republic we are and subject to the same laws. We had an election and the will of the public was made clear. You/they do not get to basically cancel that election by disrupting its outcome being carried out.

It’s just depressing man
It feels like everything just revolves around being “right” rather than being “factual”
it feels like this started in the Obama years but maybe it’s just because that’s when I started getting more cynical in my age and skeptical of intent

With blue states, you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. So you do what's right for the country as a whole. You know the moment you stop protecting a state's residents, people will bitch that nobody is helping them. Well.....
