What are the odds we’ll ever have to activate a draft in the future?
Genuine question
I say they are going up. With all this new push for PC crap in the military, I foresee a number of people who should have joined decide not to and ones there now opt to not stay any longer then then have to. Couple that with the war hawks from both parties, they won’t let the fact we don’t have enough stop their quest for wars.....
Draft them if they won’t enlist....

Most enlisted back in world war two to avoid being drafted.
The draft has always been frowned upon.

There will never be a draft again. The military does not want it, the politicians do not want it and obviously the people do not want it.
The Boomer Draft Dodgers were a small but vocal minority, and look how much trouble they caused. Could you imagine the whining of the equivalent youngest millennials and generation Z, and now throw women of that generation into that mix.

That's not entirely accurate.
Per new military standards, it probably is.
Everyone is a “hero” now and folks are getting bronze stars in staff position.

I see nothing immediate, but if we ever go to war with China, you can bet we'll need the draft.

They should just get rid of the draft all together
Nobody should be forced to go fight in some bs war that we have no business being in

I am for it. The main reason being it will eventually end the draft altogether. We don't need to be sending our young people to be used as cannon fodder on foreign soil.
If we are truly attacked, then we use our nuclear weapons.
IF you aren't prepared to use them or consider nukes too extreme, then maybe we shouldn't be involved in said conflict to begin with.
None of the wars in the last 75 years were necessary. They all played into making our government the all powerful destroyer of the Constitution that it is today.
The next big war the Feds wage will be against the very citizens it claims to protect.
