Think what all that money and time spent by consumers on professional and collegiate sports could do if even a small portion was redirected towards charity, education, etc.
I know I spend way too much time and money on professional sports.

When these athletes realize no play, no pay they will make the season happen.
Yes and no. When they are used to the university making $150 million of of football, they get used to it quick. If it drops by a third, the little sports have to go.
You can bet your bottom dollar they will try to figure how to get in the public's good graces again.

The emotional investment I put in LSU football ain’t worth it anymore if LSU going to be used to virtue signal.

The great aspect is I get to quit when LSU is on top.

The social justice trend of athletes using these outrageously expensive taxpayer-funded stadiums as a place to insult patriotic fans and American veterans to their face during the national anthem only adds painful insult to injury for beleaguered fans who just want to watch a game
This right here is the biggest problem at the moment.
Cancel it all for a season or 2...or forever. It won't hurt me.

Sports is nonessential. These greedy and overpaid owners and athletes need to be put in their place and shown who is boss.

Bingo.
And if we feel like it, at some point the people that PAY to support sports can then resurrect them with athletes that actually love this country aren't hateful marxist trash.

I was done with the NFL when the kneeling began. I’m done with LSU when the Spineless admin cowered to the BLM mob and showed public support for the anti-American, anti-white, terrorist hate group.
Likewise. And I can find better use my time that watching SJW college football as well.

Making 20 million dollars a year to catch a ball when you read at a 3rd grade level doesn’t seem fair.
Doesn't seem fair? Strap on a pair and develop a skill that earns your boss $50 million a year and he'll pay you $20 million.
The market is nothing but fair.
If you weren't born with such skills or brains and y'all just whine how unfair it all is...man, forget it, you communist types that think no one should be paid so much despite how much society values them over you are too much for me.

Covid primed the gun that will kill a lot of sports.
BLM pulled the trigger.
Covid made us realize we don’t need sports to survive. Some people literally thought they couldn’t survive with sports. If we don’t have football this year people may just never come back if they keep ostracizing a large percentage of fans.

I posted this in another thread, but feel that it is very applicable to this thread topic:
If given a choice, I think most CFB fans would prefer to go back to having only true, non-scholarship students playing the games rather than dealing with a lot of the politically driven BS that is currently going on. Some of us just want an escape from the "real life crap that we deal with daily". Adding in the NIL laws that California and Florida have enacted make it even less appealing to the die-hard fans. That alone will create an even bigger gap from the haves and have-nots. Now, I would hate it for the thousands of student-athletes that take advantage of a college scholarship to obtain an education that they might otherwise not be able to get. However, if players today are more concerned with being paid than taking advantage of what their scholarships offer, I would prefer the NFL to develop their own minor league and let those players play in that league (in front of the 100s of fans that it would draw) and let the others play college football.

These black athletes are being used.
Lebron has no fricking clue what Marxism is or means.
He does what his Chinese and SJW massahs tell him to do. The rest fall in line.
They will be fricked without leagues.

After seeing LSU go full BLM, I say We need to eliminate ALL taxpayer funded sports. We have all paid through the entirety of their playing career for these white-hating, America hating SJW’s to learn the sport that makes them millions. And this is how they thank us?
Establish private leagues. I would gladly support a league that values patriotism and had players that actually love this country and just want to play football.
Pro sports have been dead to me for awhile and I can see that College Football is ruined too. It will be a lot more difficult to drop LSU, but I’ve been preparing myself. At least I got one last Championship before it all got destroyed.

I beg your pardon. Lebron James finished high school. He's earned every penny of that 30mil/yr for sending a ball through a hoop.
