To whom or what is any Marine obligated to perform any / every "duty" he is ordered?
The question that's being asked:
Is "duty" defined by morality and loyalty oath to Countrymen OR Commander? (regardless of mission)

So many supposed ex-military types writing checks that their asses couldn’t cash with a first class ticket to Kyiv in their pockets.

It's not surprising a bunch of people here can't understand that.
Its because most here are cowards bound by a personality cult. They, or their wormy children, wouldnt be any use on a battlefield anyway.

Never been in the military, but I’m pretty sure duty is defined by any lawful order given to you by a superior officer.

Your blood, to defend his treasure.

Well the op was asking would I send my son to fight for a pedo. Who would. Silly question. I am not my sons master. He is a man and he signed and pledged his oath as a Marine. You can look up the oath you take up if you like. And volumes have been written on soldiers receiving morally corrupt orders and what to do. Look it up.

Hell no. If someone invaded USA yes, other than that no. My father served in the bush in Vietnam for nothing. He hated the Government. The shite he saw was unreal. Send Hunter and his grandsons over. Society is failing not bc of people but bc of POS politicians stealing everything and lying. It’s one big club and you ain’t in it.

an illegal or immoral order is not to be followed. I will challenge anyone to explain how this would be a legal order under any kind of understanding of any Just War theory.

Nope

I mean, how many "moral" fights have we been in vs immoral?
A soldier has got to do what they're told unless that shite is against their own people directly imo. It sucks, but it beats not having one or having anarchy in our military ranks.

Little Lady Lindsey Graham can't wait to send Americans to Ukraine. Trump will be right by his side on the golf course.

The only way I would go is if they reinstate the draft and my number is called.

Let's be honest - if shite got real with the government against the US population, regardless of what civil rights they were going to violate, your son would blindly follow the orders of his superiors, who, if you follow the chain of command, follow the orders of their superiors who take their orders from these corrupt piece of shite politicians. If your son wouldn't follow orders, other marines would arrest him, court martial him and some other dipshit would follow their orders blindly. It's what they do in the military - create order following robots.
Hopefully I'm wrong if this ever came to fruition.

I would say that you’re wrong for now, but not much longer.

OK. I'm gonna be real honest. You don't know sh!t. You don't know those in the military and if you served I will assume you were drummed out quickly. Marines ain't turning on their own. Maybe your kids. Not mine. You act like you know my son and his fellow Marines. You are a fool. Please don't vote or breed.

I would t allow my son to fight for this government. I’m an actual combat veteran that dropped out of college and volunteered to go to Iraq. This country and the people in it are not worth dying for in my opinion!

Keyword "lawful."
I'm pretty sure "lawful" has been stretched
and violated a gazillion times since Nov 2020. (much like the US Constitution.)
