The hope is that your son understands and abides in the letter of one's oath to nation and not Superior.
IF the US Armed Services and its past traditions and expectations have changed as negatively as it is said to be (by MANY), all bets are off (with all due respect to your lad.)

Much has changed as we have all seen the crap forced on the services the last couple of decades. But if your in the military family you get the good and bad stories. If you are on the outside you mostly get just the bad.

When you say "Turning on their own", you realize that "their own" does not mean the same thing to every member of the military. Have you seen the woke leftist bullshite being spewed out of the Pentagon these days? Similar to the police, don't think for one second that the Marines or any branch of the military, including your son, are above oppressing it's own citizens. Again, your son might not follow the orders, but they would find someone who would. Wake the frick up man.

Well said. I was once a huge military fan boy, but then I grew up and learned to think for myself about how much the US Government has lied and tricked its people into dying for their bullshite meaningless wars.
