McCain should be respected for wearing the uniform but he's no more of a hero than the thousands of other POW's that came back from war and simply went on with their lives. Why McCain was treated with such high honor after his death is at a minimum partially political, because McCain was a staunch "never Trumper" he was held in higher regard by the Swamp Dwellers, they figured it would be a good poke in the eye to the POTUS.

Is anyone surprised? This week has been one long pathetic political theater. Whatever respect I had for McCain before his death is completely gone now. The only good news is that this dog and pony show is (hopefully) finally over.
