The only way this stops is if someone with FU money files a class action lawsuit.

Businesses should have the freedom to set their own policy.
Consumers should have the freedom to use those businesses or not.
The Judiciary should have NO say in the matter.

you somehow end up owing them money, then yes they'd have to accept cash to settle a debt, but no place is under any obligation to serve you coffee if they don't accept cash in the store and you refuse to pay with a card

Would they rather throw away the 8 dollar mocha whatever the hell or take the 10 dollar bill out of my hand? The choice is theirs

Not only is it harder to use cash these days, using anything over a $20 is damn near impossible. I tried using a $100 at Starbucks for my wife’s coffee and they looked at me like I was insane. Would have probably been easier to just write them a check.

It's only an offer of payment. There is no acceptance requirement in law.

You don’t even have to lay down exact change. Just lay down cash rounded up to the next dollar bill.

I would love to lay down $600 cash for my groceries only to get publicly arrested and charged with shoplifting. So would my attorney.

I use cash every single chance that I get. Which is almost always.

I like to annoy co-workers by paying in cash for bulk lunch orders. Everyone pays via Venmo, Zelle, PalPal or Apple Pay and I'd be the only one paying in cash. They always act frustrated because of the extra effort with cash but someone usually step up and pay my share.

That was another big push was when it came out that card companies were specifically tracking those purchases for the Government

Everyone has the story where they pay the kid in cash and he can't figure out how to make change.

Well last week I give the kid two one dollar bills, a quarter, a dime and a nickel on a $2.38 purchase. He stands there looking at the change and flipping the coins over in his hand and I realized he didn't know the value of the coins. This was a college aged kid at a retail store. Who doesn't know our currency?

Given the numbers I seen floating around about just how illiterate our current populace are I am not surprised in the least
