Your Top 5 People that influenced your thinking
And I’m going with famous people, not people in your personal life
The answer is people in my personal life . . . . period. I've met/socialized with many very accomplished folks. I'd be hard-pressed to say any "influenced" my thinking in an appreciable way.

You know, I always enjoyed you Otto.
Come now you aren’t fooling anyone. Your style is unmistakable. You aren’t getting banned...did the ban the Otto handle?

And not a person, but two things. Federalist Papers and, a book I read in college that was nothing but a collection of the letters exchanged between the various principles leading up to the constitutional convention.
Can I get the name of said book?

1) My father, who taught me that life isn’t fair, you don’t get anything that you didn’t work for, and take responsibility for your own actions as no one else will. Also taught me the difference between right and wrong and that it was a bad thing to take something that you did not earn and was not yours to begin with. Our left wing fellow ‘citizens’ and holier than thou politicians would do well to learn that last lesson.
2) My grandfather who taught me the sacrifices that were made for this country to be what it is.
3) Mark Levin, who taught me more about the Constitution than any teacher ever has.
4) Poliboard and OT, I’ve learned as much history on these two boards as I ever have in a classroom.
Honestly though, I think I’m just wired to be conservative with a libertarian streak. Fiercely independent and all that jazz.

Good thread.
Dad and Grandpa - thought me about work ethic and self-sufficiency.
Anonymous - can’t name drop him, but a billionaire founder who taught me a lot about humility.
Edward Bernays - author and Roosevelt’s propagandist. Once you understand how the media manipulates us-it’s easy to spot who the real bad guys are.
Any Rand - scary how much of today resembles her writing
Ronald Reagan - obvious reasons.
